Take in the magnificent view of the three silos representing a WW1 nurse, a modern day combat medic and a light horseman. A memorial tribute by the RSL will form part of the remembrance service. KA'MELLIA GARDEN 79 Faithful Street, Benalla Saturday 2 November, 10am - 4pm This property purchased in January 2016 was named ‘Ka’mellia’ after the plant ‘camellia’ which the owners love. Many of the foundation plants were given by neighbours and through a call out to the community. The garden is now established with various bulbs, camellias, golden gleditsias, wisteria, grapevines, climbing roses and fruit trees. Through the use of ground covers, mulch and a watering system, minimal maintenance is required. Entry: $5. Proceeds to Benalla Garden Club projects and Benalla Health. This garden will feature a display of Tony Levy’s metal garden sculpture for sale.

POTS AT STEWART'S 27 Clarke Street, Benalla Saturday 2 November, 10am - 4pm This garden features a vast range of plants housed in pots, including bulbs, herbs, grasses, ground coves, shrubs, hellebores, roses, pelargoniums, cannas, ferns, succulents, miniature iris and many more. Some plants in the garden may be for sale – visitors will need to contact the owner. Entry: $5. Proceeds to Benalla Garden Club projects and Benalla Health. A huge range of plants, secondhand gardening books, cards and vases will be for sale at this garden.

STAFFORD GARDEN 17 Warana Court, Benalla Saturday 2 November, 10am - 4pm The front garden has a little Gem Magnolia and a big area which is a cottage garden with ornaments. Moving through the gates there are camellias, Japanese maples and a Crepe Myrtle, as well as a succulent area with lights around the rock border. The paving area leads to a path under the arch and around it is a circular bed which is a ‘pretend pool’ with ducks and swans. Come and enjoy. Entry: $5. REDDING HOUSE GARDEN 9 Mitchell Street, Benalla Saturday 2 November, 10am - 4pm Redding House is the oldest surviving residence in Benalla. The Griffins purchased the house in 1988 and in 1994 restoration work began. Eventually a parterre garden was established at the front. With the loss of nine mature Malus ioensis trees and the removal of the clipped Ficus pumila in the courtyard they now enjoy a simple planting of trees, the privacy of clipped ivy hedging and a walled garden at the rear of the property. Entry: $5. Proceeds to Benalla Garden Club projects and Tomorrow Today Foundation. The P-12 College Waller Street Campus will hold a produce stall of items made from the school’s Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program. Benalla Garden Club is a proud supporter of this educational program.

WARNOCK GARDEN 103 Clarke Street, Benalla Saturday 2 November, 10am - 4pm This garden originally consisted of some mature trees. The FEATURED EVENT owners created rose gardens, a water feature, gazebo and added a date palm. From the front there is a meandering stone OPEN path with paving slabs leading to the house. FEATURED EVENT BENALLA MIGRANT BENALLA MIGRANT CAMP CAMP EXHIBITION @ HUT 11 Benalla Airport, Samaria Road, BARC Hut 11 (enter via the Gliding Club entrance) Saturday 2 - Sunday 3 November, 10am - 3pm The moving photos in this exhibition tell the story of life at Benalla’s post-war migrant camp, which housed approximately 60,000 migrants from 1949-1967. The collection houses more than 200 personal photos contributed by former migrant camp families as well as personal documents, a short film and 100s of Benalla migrant cards sourced from the National Archives that tell the story of life at the post-war migrant accommodation centre. The tradition of the Benalla Festival Street Parade has been delighting our community and visitors for over 50 years with colourful floats, carnival characters, entertainers, historic cars, aircraft, bands and more. 2pm: The parade starts at the Monash Bridge and moves down Bridge Street to the roundabout at Carrier Street (Miller’s corner) and returns along Bridge Street.

STRANGE GARDEN Watch the beautiful abstract garden installation made from cardboard come to life. Created by Benalla school children with visual and performance artist Eliza Gilchrist. DREAMING SPACE This is the place for the young and young at heart. Become a circus star, trying hula hoops, juggling and diablo. Get involved in the interactive workshops including puppet play, the magic island show, storytelling and science show. PENNY CANDY SIDESHOW Penny Candy will sell you lollies, sing you songs and make you split your sides with laughter. SKEETERS In a world where wheels reign supreme, Skeeters are swift urban creatures.
