2 MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING HELD ON 18th January 2017

The Minutes have been circulated, read and approved and signed as a true and correct record. There were no updated actions from the Minutes.

3 HEAVY GOODS VEHICLES – WEIGHT LIMITS/RESTRICTIONS

Mr Hardy reported that the Heavy Goods signs have been installed. Mr Hardy requested for the Clerk to contact Mr Bullen at County Council to ask if a sign can be put at the junction of Big Lane and Seagrave Road in Seagrave. Mrs Fryer told the Councillors that they can report any heavy goods vehicle that is on a route it shouldn’t be by giving the name of the Company’s name on the vehicle and time the vehicle was seen to Charnwood Borough Council or Graham Compton (Road Safety Committee) or Leicestershire County Council.

4 VILLAGE LIBRARIES UPDATE

Mr Newitt reported that Leicestershire County Council are running the Mountsorrel library until the middle of the year. Mrs Fryer reported that Barrow library is coming up for its 2nd year anniversary and doing very well. LaFarge have offered the library some funding.

5 ITEMS FROM PARISH COUNCIL Mr Newitt reported that Mountsorrel have installed defibrillators around the village. He also reported Mountsorrel are looking for a new Clerk to the Parish Council.

Mrs Fryer reported that at the Charnwood Road Safety meeting, Woodhouse Eaves Traffic Watch group have reported that there are vehicles speeding over 90mph over Brand Hill and Main Road of Woodhouse Eaves. The group are asking for donations from local parish

councils/villages for a Slow Down VAS sign. Mrs Fryer to forward a report of the speed of vehicles passing through Woodhouse for the Clerk to distribute with the Minutes.

Mrs Weston-Webb and Mrs Fryer asked the Councillors if Parish Councillors could support the Charnwood Road Safety group by sending representatives to the meetings. The next meeting is on Tuesday 16th May 2017 at 6.30pm at Charnwood Borough Council, Southfields, . A representative from the Fire Service will be present with a pair of realistic goggles demonstrating what it is like to be in a car accident.

6 DATE OF NEXT MEETING

The next meeting is to be held on Wednesday 19th April at 18.10hrs. Prior to this meeting at 18:00hrs will be the Soar Valley Liaison Group AGM to be held in the Jubilee Hall, Cossington.

The Chairman thanked the committee for attending and closed the meeting at 6.42pm.
