A Day in the Life of a Writers’ PA A discussion with George Ghanem & Rick Cisario, Writers’ PA’s on 9JKL By George Ghanem & Rick Cisario

George: Well, I should start by saying we refer to each other as “Daytime” and “Nighttime” for obvious reasons. Rick: Obviously. G: I’m the Writers’ PA during the day. I get in early and make sure everything is ready for the writers. I brew some coffee and get the day going with some lunch. R: You’re the “opening act.” You grease the wheels, let them know what’s up and by the time they’re ready to rock n’ roll... G: I hit ‘em with some more coffee? R: No, I come in. G: Right and you’re sorta like the “Post- Credits Easter Egg.” R: That’s one way to look at it. Probably diminishes my role a little. Another way to look at it as if I’m batting clean-up. You load the bases and I hit Grand Slams. Grand Slams mean dinner. G: You could also be referred to as the “bottom of the order.” R: I’m using my college degree every day. Not once have I had to dig through the garbage for a guest star’s car keys. G: Right... PHOTO: Robert Voets ©2017 CBS Broadcasting, Inc. All Rights Reserved ©2017 CBS Broadcasting, Inc.
