SANTA CLARITA, CA Capturing more robust support as she seeks to represent California's 38th State Assembly District seat, today Newhall School Board Member Christy Smith secured a major endorsement from the California League of Conservation Voters. Previously Smith was endorsed by Sierra Club California.

In making their endorsement public, the California League of Conservation Voters released the following statement:

"The California League of Conservation Voters is proud to endorse Christy Smith,” stated CLCV Political Director James Johnson. “We know she'll work to combat the drought, improve water infrastructure, and invest more in clean and renewable energy to curb pollution and create more good jobs. She has our full support."

Last week Smith's campaign announced that three California Superintendents had backed her Assembly bid, including Delaine Eastin, Tom Torlakson and Jack O'Connell. Equality California, a major statewide equality and civil rights organization also endorsed Smith last week.
