Buddy was a patient teacher and role model. This was the foundation from which Hackett began his development, growth and versatility as a performer, producer, writer and entertainer. At age eleven, Hackett accompanied his father for a scheduled appearance on the "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In." It was there that he caught the eye of the show's producers and made his first professional television debut. Hackett graduated with a degree in Hotel Administration from UNLV where he also served as UNLV’s Director of Entertainment. He produced "The Sahara Showcase of Talent" at the Las Vegas based Sahara Hotel & Casino for four years before it was renamed "Sandy Hackett's Talent Showcase" and ran for another decade. Additionally, Hackett hosted and produced the show at Sahara Reno, Sahara Tahoe and The Mint and Dunes Hotel & Casinos. During this time, Hackett presented over ten thousand acts, including many first-time Las Vegas appearances by Andrew "Dice" Clay, Howie Mandel, Gary Muledeer, The Unknown Comic, Tony D'Andrea, Kenny Kerr, George Wallace, and many others. For the next 40 years he led his people through the desert in search of the Promised Land, stopping at Comedy Clubs to learn his craft and entertain the masses. His father came to see him one night and asked him to come share the stage with him. It was a dream come true for the younger Hackett. He accepted and then got to travel and learn from the master of comedy for the next 10 years as his opening act, road manager, stage manager, navigator and best friend. Throughout the 1990’s, Hackett successfully ran his own comedy club in Laughlin, Nevada. An accomplished agent, manager, event planner, and buyer of talent, he became the Entertainment Director for Sun City Summerlin, booking talent for an incredible 400+ shows in two years at the Starbright Theater. Hackett, together with his beautiful and talented wife, producer/director/singer, Lisa Dawn Miller, have created and produced “Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack Show,” the most successful, unique, original live theatrical production of its kind. The show tours nationwide and has received great critical acclaim. Hackett and Miller reside in Los Angeles with their two beautiful children, Oliver (13 years old), an incredible young, singer/actor (who has already shared the stage with Stevie Wonder), and 7 year old Ashleigh, an amazing young actress/comedian who has already shared the stage with her father. www.mybuddyhackett.com (more) 3 BUDDY HACKETT Legendary Comedian, Buddy Hackett (1924-2003), paved the way for every comedian today, shaping and influencing generations of comedy. For over 60 years, Hackett entertained audiences around the world. Having appeared on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson more than any other comedian, Hackett was one of the most adored entertainers of his time. There will never be another like him. The institution of Hackett speaks for itself. A brilliant film career, Buddy starred in some of the most successful movies of his time, “It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World,” “Music Man” and of course, the Disney classics, “The Love Bug” and “The Little Mermaid.” Hackett starred in hundreds of television shows throughout the decades including his critically acclaimed performance as Lou Costello in “Bud and Lou” opposite, Harvey Korman. He first burst on the scene with his now classic “Chinese Waiter” routine, which put him on the comedy map as the new funny kid on the block. Buddy Hackett’s tremendously versatile talent helped him conquer everything from the Catskills to Las Vegas, from Broadway to Hollywood and everywhere in between. Hackett was an idol and mentor to his comedy peers and countless young comedians and entertainers. Hackett’s contributions to the entertainment industry are, like his charitable and humanitarian contributions, enduring and profound. Buddy received a star on the legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame. Hackett also received a star in Palm Springs and was honored with the Disney Legends Award, posthumously, from Disney for his contributions to the Magic of Disney. Buddy Hackett is the father of Sandy Hackett. • Grateful Dead Until 1999, Whose Inspiration and Encyclopedic Knowledge of the Band’S Vaults Spawned the Fabled Dick’S Picks Series of Live Dead Concert Recordings
“Dick” was Dick Latvala, the official tape archivist for the Grateful Dead until 1999, whose inspiration and encyclopedic knowledge of the band’s vaults spawned the fabled Dick’s Picks series of live Dead concert recordings. Comprised of 36 volumes, Dick’s Picks follows the band on its long, strange trip through a multitude of eras, tours and venues, featuring handpicked shows that display the band at its visionary, improvisational height. Now, Real Gone Music is finally bringing this unparalleled cache of Dead concert brilliance to record stores— many of these volumes have never been available at music retail, and the others have been unavailable for close to a decade! GRATEFUL DEAD: Dick’s Picks Vol. 13—Nassau Dick's Picks Coliseum, Uniondale, NY 5/6/81 (3-CD Set) This show, which appears here in its entirety, was already some- thing of a legend among Dead collectors before archivist Dick Latvala selected it for Dick’s Picks Vol. 13. Only the second GRATEFUL concert (at the time) from the ‘80s to be tapped for the series, it was (and is) widely regarded to be among the best perform- DEAD ances of the decade, particularly notable for a stunning sec- ond-set sequence featuring “He’s Gone” leading into the SELLING POINTS: last-ever performance of the “Caution Jam,” which then morphed into the first performance of the “Spanish Jam” in five years. A real high point • Dick’s Picks Vol. 13 Presents One of the Most of the era. But before that, you are treated to a hidden (and fiery) 35-minute version of Legendary Dead Shows of the ‘80s “Scarlet Begonias”/”Fire on the Mountain” from a show at the same venue hailing from 1979, as well as a very tight first set winding up with a rollicking “Deal!” A good one for fans of Brent Myd- • Features an Amazing Second Set Sequence of land, too.

  • Andrew Dice Clay
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MAY 25, 2009 RIVER ROCK CASINO RESORT PRESENTS ANDREW DICE CLAY LIVE AT THE RIVER ROCK SHOW THEATRE SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31 Richmond, BC – Andrew Dice Clay made a career out of being the most outrageous comic of his time. Before Dave Chappelle and before South Park, Dice was shocking audiences … breaking the rules with a never-before- seen style of hardcore comedy. He became the man to hate by every PC group in America. His rise to fame was meteoric — sold-out arenas, platinum albums, starring roles in films and TV specials. Dice has had his ups and downs throughout his career. At one point he was banned for life from MTV which ended up making him more popular than Madonna at the time. In 2007, Dice starred in the VH1 series, Dice Undisputed where his controversial macho image often collided with his real family life and the man behind all the limericks and leather was in a fight all his own. There he was … a devoted father of two teenage rocker sons dealing with a broken marriage, living with his new fiancée, Eleanor and then facing the everyday challenges of middle age. Recently he appeared on NBC’s The Celebrity Apprentice 2 … the charity he chose to play for was “StandUp For Kids” — a non-profit organization for homeless at-risk youth. He still enjoys performing his unconventional stand- up show to sold out audiences across North America. It’s been said that what you will see on stage is a very talented actor-comedian who will most likely shock you with what he has to say.
