Glaciers in Chilean Patagonia tell a story of climate change 7.00pm Wed. 26th February Venue: Falmouth Aquarium Patagonia is a crucial region to understand the patterns and timing of global climate change in the past and present. Royal Marines 1164 Challenge Mon. 9th June Venue: Town Centre & Discovery Quay 10.30am to 5.30pm To celebrate the 350th anniversary of the Royal Marines (including the more recent Commando role) a team is undertaking an epic challenge to ski, Sail, cycle, canoe and run approximately 4136 miles. They will briefly stop at the St. Nazaire Memorial on Prince of Wales Pier to pay their respects before being drummed in Commando tradition to the days finishing line at the National Maritime Museum where they will hand over the baton to 29 Commando RA. Shanty bands and singers from all over the UK and the Continent converge on Falmouth bringing a huge diversity of shanties performed on stages throughout the town.
