Please remember in prayer

In the world: • As we hear a Gospel of forgiveness, we pray that we may be forgiving people, and that we may always seek to build relationships that are based on love, respect and forgiveness. • The Yemen, Beirut, Syria, Belarus, and all places where human suffering is rife. We pray for the destitute, hungry and homeless everywhere. • All those places where Covid-19 is rife and growing, and especially where the medical structures cannot offer the care and support needed. • The international scientific community, as it works together to find a vaccine for Covid-19, as well as treatments for its symptoms.

In the community and society: • The work of the Newark Women’s Refuge; and for all charities and organisations that work to protect those at risk of abuse of any kind. We remember the Safeguarding Team in this Diocese; and all who work to safeguard those who are vulnerable. • Those who are still fearful, and find it hard to become active outside the home. May we continue to look out for neighbours who need our help. • The work of the Passage and the Foodbank in a time of increasing homelessness and food poverty; and for all their clients. • All those involved in the Brexit negotiations, that a way forward may be found, so that respect and trust may be restored, and stable working partnerships may be forged.

The sick: Richard Hanmer; Kathy Cheesmond; Liza Grenfell.

Anniversary: Mark Gray (Monika, David and Sheila, and all who mourn Mark). Rest eternal grant to him, O Lord; and let light perpetual shine upon him.

Please let Anna know if you would like anyone included in the prayers – [email protected]

Lincolnshire Remembers – Covid-19, grief and hope

An online church service: Lincoln Remembers - Covid, Grief and Hope, recognises the human toll the virus has taken in so many ways and will be online Sunday September 20th at 7pm. The invitation is for anyone to attend regardless of belief and for people to light a candle in a window on the Sunday evening as a communal way of marking the gathering.

In there has been loss of life, employment and opportunities. Many are grieving the loss of loved ones. Local church leaders believe that how we remember and shape memories is important for individuals and the community and hope the online service may assist with this. During the service there will be people available to talk with anyone through the online platform.

While there is loss to remember the service will also look to the future, seeing hope in the journey ahead for the county and for every town and nation. The service will recognise those whose support through the pandemic has been a source of inspiration and hope. There will be participation from emergency workers and others who have worked throughout the pandemic to help others.

The service is being organised by CTAL - Churches Together in All Lincolnshire and can be accessed through this link Live.alivechurch.org.uk
