FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Arctic thriller, Fortitude, returns to Super Channel for third and final season Four-part concluding mini-series premieres March 18 at 9 p.m. ET on Super Channel Fuse Richard Dormer and Dennis Quaid return EDMONTON (February 19, 2019) – Super Channel is pleased to announce that the third and final season of the chilling Arctic thriller, Fortitude, will premiere on Super Channel Fuse on Monday, March 18 at 9 p.m. ET. Each hour-long episode of the gripping four-part conclusion will also be available on Super Channel On Demand, the day following its linear broadcast premiere. Returning key cast for the final chapter includes Dennis Quaid (Far from Heaven), Richard Dormer (Game of Thrones), Sienna Guillory (Stan Lee’s Lucky Man), Luke Treadaway (A Street Cat Named Bob), Alexandra Moen (Strike Back), Mia Jexen (Happiness) and Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson (Jar City). The third installment of the series picks up where the second finished with the death of Governor Munk hanging over the town. Two new police officers are in town from Oslo, sent to Fortitude to investigate the murder, and soon learn the inhabitants of the most staggeringly beautiful place on earth have a lot to overcome… Fortitude is written and created by Simon Donald (Low Winter Sun) and executive produced by Donald and Patrick Spence (The A Word, Guerrilla). The third season is directed by Kieron Hawkes (Strike) and produced by Andrew Wood (Will), with production design by Paul Spriggs (The A Word). The initiative was devised in association with Wexford Arts Centre's performance subcommittee member and local community theatre writer & director Carol Long and was supported by Liz Burns, Wexford County Council's Art Officer. The initiative was developed to support professional theatre development for playwrights in County Wexford. There were over 20 applications, and 8 very talented playwrights were chosen to participate in the programme. During the year the playwrights met by Zoom and in Wexford Arts Centre in compliance with COVID-19 H&S measures to work with lead mentor and renowned playwright Billy Roche and visiting acclaimed playwright and dramaturg mentors Deirdre Kinehan and Thomas Conway on the development of their proposed synopsis for plays into full production scripts. Leading international theatre director Ben Barnes came on board to direct the work in progress stage readings with a very fine cast of local and national professional actors who all committed to delivering stellar stage reading performances for each of these new plays.
