Que tras 54 partidos disputados en su segunda etapa en el Valladolid, al finalizar la temporada 2000-01 es transferido al Paris Saint-Germain, club para el que en 3 años participó en más de una centena de encuentros y con el cual se consagró ganador de la Copa de Francia en la primera mitad de 2004. Que en Junio de ese mismo año, Heinze es vendido al Manchester United donde luego de la temporada 2004-05 es elegido por votación como el mejor jugador del equipo.
