The work is intended to form a Cultural Heritage chapter of an Environmental Statement. The proposed scheme comprises a single wind turbine, approximately 77m high to tip of the blade, at Nant-y-fran, Cemaes, Anglesey, LL67 0LS. The impact assessment for the turbine has been commissioned by Engena Limited (The Old Stables, Bosmere Hall, Creeting St Mary, Suffolk, IP6 8LL). The local planning authority is the Isle of Anglesey County Council. The planning reference is 20C27B/SCR. -

A - Introduction / Background / Issues The Preferred Strategy is a vital stage in the long journey to prepare the Local Development Plan (LDP) with Gwynedd. The Strategy has been drawn-up following a number of opportunities for full participation by Ynys Mon Councillors At this stage the Council is being asked to adopt the Strategy for the purposes of public consultation. Views expressed during the public consultation period will help inform the preparation of a more detailed plan called the Deposit Plan which will set out the strategy, including strategic policies, as well as detailed planning policies. The Deposit Plan is due to be considered by Council later on in 2013. Introduction The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 requires the Council to prepare a Local Development Plan (LDP) for the development and use of land over the plan period and its policies to implement them. This Council has decided to work with Gwynedd Council to prepare a Joint LDP. Regulation 15 of the Local Development Plan Regulations requires that, before finally determining the content of its Local Development Plan (LDP) for deposit, a Council must publish its pre-deposit proposals for public inspection and comment. -

E-BULLETIN COVID-19 Issue 3 7 MAY, 2020 THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS In the response of volunteers to Covid-19, communities, neighbours and individuals have stepped up in informal and formal ways on Anglesey to shop and deliver food parcels, to collect and deliver items from pharmacies, to provide dog walking services or just being there, providing welfare check-ins and wellbeing chats to those that need them. Volunteers have raised vital funds for voluntary organisations, through a range of fundraising activities and helped share public health information messages across social media sites. Our thanks go to all those who are trying to make sure we look after each other during this difficult time. As a part of Volunteers’ Week this year the Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) is extending the national #ClapforCarers to include a #ClapforVolunteers on Thursday 4th June at 8pm. Please inform your volunteers, staff, supporters and funders and invite them to clap even louder and harder, to say thank you to the volunteers who are offering support during this pandemic. Introduction The New Nuclear Build at Wylfa: Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) was produced and adopted by the Isle of Anglesey County Council (the IACC) in July 2014 (Link). Supplementary Planning Guidance is a means of setting out detailed thematic or site specific guidance on the way in which national and local policies will be applied in particular circumstances or areas. As the Joint Local Development Plan (JLDP) was yet to be adopted, the SPG was produced to fill this policy gap. This enabled the IACC to influence and inform Horizon Nuclear Power’s (Horizon) strategic decision making, it provided the basis for the County Council’s response to Horizon’s statutory consultations (PAC1, 2 and 3) and also provided a sound and robust policy framework for the IACC to make decisions in relation to any planning applications (as well as the DCO itself).
