It was reported that the research which had been undertaken into the implementation of IPDS in West Yorkshire had revealed that there were large discrepancies in the job size of some station commands. Members were advised, therefore, that a trial had been proposed whereby small one pump stations would be combined into joint commands. It was proposed that the trial would commence with immediate effect and would involve Pontefract and Knottingley, Wetherby and Stanks, and, Elland and Brighouse. No reduction in establishment would result from the one-year trial and, similarly, the current net effect on officer cover would be neutral. It was further reported that, should the trial be successful a Section 19 application would have to be made should the Authority wish to consolidate the arrangements. RESOLVED That the report be noted. 5 CATERING CONTRACT - AWARD (Exempt information under Schedule 12A (8 and 9) of the Local Government Act 1972 - Contract Price and Prejudice Negotiations) This item was withdrawn from the agenda by the Director of Corporate Services. 6 NEW BRADFORD FIRE STATION - GROUND INVESTIGATION AND SITE PLANNING WORKS (Exempt information under Schedule 12A (8 and 9) of the Local Government Act 1972 - Contract Price and Prejudice Negotiations) Consideration was given to a report of the Director of Corporate Services which sought approval for the early vacation of tenants from the site of the proposed new Fire Station on Leeds Road, Bradford and subsequent site clearance. It was reported that the cost of the compensation package as detailed in the report now submitted would be charged against the capital scheme for the replacement Bradford Fire Station. RESOLVED That approval be given to the financial terms detailed in the report for securing early possession of the premises comprising 550 / 552 Leeds Road and to the identified expenditure for site clearance and ground testing.
