“Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success”
— Henry Ford
Best wishes for 2014
The biggest issue we see facing our clients revolves around how
to grow profitably in a challenging economic environment – and this goes for all types of businesses – whether local, regional or international in scope. When we surveyed business leaders in our 16th Annual Global CEO Survey, we found they were continuing to refine their operations, looking to cut costs without reducing value and seeking organic growth opportunities without large outlays of capital. Most important, they said they had a clear focus on customers, and were working with them more closely than ever on programmes to stimulate demand, loyalty and joint innovation. that two qualifications give us a distinct advantage: We have highly
talented and experienced people with the right skills and capabilities
necessary to tackle the issues and opportunities facing our clients. Secondly, we have the best network of firms in the Caribbean and in
157 countries around the world to deliver services no matter where our clients operate.
More than ever, our focus is on how we can improve the delivery
of our services to our clients and increase their opportunities for
success. We remain extremely humbled that organisations around the Caribbean and beyond continue to turn to us for help and advice.
We work closely with our clients to help navigate change, transform their operating models, grow their business and build value for their customers – this is what PwC Caribbean does best. I believe

Insurance and reinsurance
Transformational changes are putting existing insurance business models at risk. Insurers that succeed will:
Our Insurance and Reinsurance practice is a leading provider of professional services to life, commercial, captive, and casualty insurers and reinsurers, and insurance brokers.
• Quickly adapt
• Focus on the customer
We can help insurance and reinsurance companies with the issues, trends and challenges they face, including:
• Continuously improve and build their analytical capability
• Innovate and reinvent
• Business strategy
They will anticipate change and quickly capitalise on emerging opportunities.
• Corporate governance • Risk and capital management • Fraud risks and controls • Policy administration, claims and billing transformation
Those slow to respond to change risk finding themselves priced out of the market, falling short of customer expectations, and under threat from aggressive new entrants.
• Actuarial issues • Regulatory compliance • Financial reporting, including insurance contracts and statutory accounting
• Taxation • Mergers and acquisitions
In the Caribbean, the insurance industry faces a particularly challenging environment with regulatory pressures, changing trading blocks and fierce, relentless competition.
• Entity creation and corporate secretarial and advisory support
