Je roule à vélo depuis mon plus jeune âge. Et j’ai toujours suivi le cyclisme de près, plus précisément dans les Cantons de l’Est. Au fil du temps, le développement technique a progressé à la vitesse de l’éclair: l’histoire a commencé par un petit vélo avec un frein à rétropédalage, suivi ensuite par un vélo à trois vitesses. Mais, alors que j’étais encore en humanité, j’ai reçu mon premier vélo de course à 10 vitesses. Pour moi, cela représentait la liberté absolue : toute la partie sud des Cantons de l’Est devenait tout à coup accessible. Ensuite, les VTT ont fait leur apparition et la technique s’est améliorée d’année en année. Les Voies Vertes J’ai appris à connaître de toutes nouvelles façons de faire du vélo et c’est à peine si je peux aujourd’hui encore attendre la prochaine étape RAVeL de l’évolution. On retrouve aujourd’hui les perfectionnements du VTT 4 et du vélo de route dans tous les vélos. Fantastique !

Cette évolution a également influencé le cyclotourisme. Ces 15 dernières C’est un pur plaisir de pédaler sur les RAVeL des Can- années, on a travaillé dur et considérablement investi dans les Cantons tons de l‘Est et sur la ligne de la Vennbahn ! D’un bout de l’Est: RAVeL, VéloTour, Vennbahn, location de vélos électriques, à l’autre, aucun véhicule motorisé et des paysages au réseau VTT… : tout cela pour répondre aux besoins du cycliste cœur d’une nature…. naturelle ! d’aujourd’hui. Le résultat est visible et ne craint pas la comparaison avec les destinations cyclistes favorites. Une version digitale de planificateur d’itinéraires cyclistes et une App sont en préparation. Affaire à suivre !

Aujourd’hui, je fais toujours du vélo avec autant de plaisir, que ce soit sur la route ou en dehors des sentiers battus : le large sourire qui éclaire mon visage ne disparaît pas. L‘offre pour les amateurs de vélo dans les Cantons de l‘Est est d‘une diversité sans bornes. N’hésitez pas à la découvrir !

Les voies ouvertes exclusivement aux usagers non motorisés tels que les cyclistes, les piétons, les personnes à mobilité réduite, les patineurs ou encore les cavaliers, réunissant des conditions suffi- santes de largeur, de déclivité et de revêtement pour garantir une utilisation sécurisée des usagers de toute capacité, et ayant pour emprise soit un chemin de service le long des voies hydrauliques ou des grands ouvrages hydrauliques, soit une assiette de voies de chemin de fer désaffectées, soit une voirie existante ou à créer, consti- tuent le réseau autonome des voies lentes ou dénommé RAVeL.

Ce sont les anciennes lignes de chemin de fer des Cantons de l’Est qui ont été réhabilitées en sentiers cyclistes. Le réseau transfrontalier représente aujourd’hui plus de 200 km. Tout un réseau de circuits balisés quadrille la région des Cantons de l’Est et s’étend surtout dans le sud de la région. 18 itinéraires, de la Baraque Michel à Ouren, couvrent un kilométrage total de 480 km. Ils proposent un grand nombre d’alternative : des tronçons courts à des parcours plus exi- geants, techniques et physiques. Chacun de ces circuits est disponible sur tracé GPS. Il vous est loisible de louer un de ces appareils pour effectuer la randonnée sans soucis.

Des vacances cyclistes synonyme de détente

Les cyclotouristes (ou ceux qui partent en vacances avec leur vélo) apprécie- ront ceci : celui qui passe ses vacances sur la selle et roule toute la journée, recherche le soir un bon petit repas, un sommeil synonyme de détente et une véritable hospitalité. Les hôteliers des Cantons de l‘Est le savent et ont adapté leur offre à ces besoins. Dans l’intervalle, il existe déjà 33 logements accueillants aux cyclistes avec un label « bed+bike ».

Dans les Cantons de l’Est, vous recon- naissez ces logements « bed+bike » qui se sont affiliés au label officiel de l’« Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrradclub (ADFC) » aux panneaux bleus et jaunes. Ici les cyclistes sont entre de bonnes mains. Vous y percevez non seulement l’hospitalité des Cantons de l’Est, des services très spécifiques sur le vélo sont aussi proposés.

Cette brochure donne un aperçu de l’offre complète des itinéraires cyclistes (vélos et VTT) officiels. Aucun coin des Cantons de l’Est ne reste ainsi inexploré.
