Seats for these courses are allotted by the KEA. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS Candidates applying for admission to Master’s Degree / Postgraduate diploma courses must be a graduate and must have obtained a minimum of 45% (40% in case of SC/ ST and Category-I candidates) of marks in Cognate/Optional subjects put together from all the years of the examinations of the course. However, deviations, if any, are mentioned in the table below against specific courses. SC, ST, Cat-I students shall be given 5% relaxation in eligibility marks. (For M.A in English must have obtained a minimum of 50% for Gm/OBC, 45% for SC/ST/Category-1 candidates). In case a candidate has taken longer than the prescribed duration to pass the qualifying course, a deduction of 3% from the percentage of the aggregate of marks of Cognate/Optional subjects for every additional year shall be applied and the candidates must have obtained the minimum marks prescribed even after such deduction, to become eligible for admission. Entrance Examination is Compulsory for all Post Graduate Degree courses for all candidates except for Foreign Nationals. Candidates have to apply and appear for entrance examinations separately for each course. However, there shall be a single common entrance examination for the following groups of courses. Group 1 : Zoology, Applied Zoology, Botany, Bio-Technology, MicroBiology, Genetics, Sericulture and Seri Biotechnology, Bio-Chemistry, Molecular Biology. The data was collected using Shodhganga e-theses database. The study found that a total of 6883 journal citations were cited in 59 theses. The journal ‘Scientometrics’ has been cited 651 times and stands first in the rank list of journals. Annals of Library and Information Studies which is an Indian LIS journal stands in the third position in the rank list with 130 citations. The Bradford’s law of scattering is not applicable for this study.
