These regular bulletins will keep our Deer Friends informed on the latest news at the club and the progress of our unique community sponsorship plan. Club subscriptions and membership fees are required to pay rent, insurance and our coaches, as well as purchasing playing and training equipment. I shall focus on some of the creativity we have valued in Bucks SACRE this year both from our members and during our visits to schools. In addition, we receive wise counsel from our Education Officer at Bucks CC, Katherine Wells and our RE Adviser Bill Moore. At our meeting in October we learned that Suma Din our Muslim deputy had become a school governor and would no longer fulfil her role with SACRE. However, her legacy to us is her book published by the Institute of Education Press entitled ‘Muslim Mothers and their children’s schooling.’ See SACRED 7, for a review. (For this and all other references to SACRED see the website at the end of this section). In her contribution to SACRED 6 Suma wrote; From the Qur’an, I understand my role as being a ‘steward’ on this earth; one who will take care, take responsibility and hand on a legacy to those who come after them.

    DETERMINATION Case reference: ADA3300 Objector: A member of the public Admission Authority: White Hill Schools Trust for Chesham Grammar School, Buckinghamshire Date of decision: 29 August 2017 Determination In accordance with section 88H(4) of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998, I do not uphold the objection to the admission arrangements for September 2018 determined by White Hill Schools Trust for Chesham Grammar School, Buckinghamshire. I have also considered the arrangements in accordance with section 88I(5) and find there are other matters which do not conform with the requirements relating to admission arrangements in the ways set out in this determination. By virtue of section 88K(2) the adjudicator’s decision is binding on the admission authority. The School Admissions Code requires the admission authority to revise its admission arrangements within two months of the date of the determination. The referral 1. Under section 88H(2) of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998, (the Act), an objection has been referred to the adjudicator by a member of the public, (the objector), about the admission arrangements for September 2018 (the arrangements) for Chesham Grammar School (the school), a selective academy for girls and boys aged 11 to 18. The objection is that the selection test used by the school appears to disadvantage high attaining children who come from disadvantaged backgrounds and those of Asian Pakistani ethnic origin. 2. The local authority for the area in which the school is located is Buckinghamshire. The local authority is a party to this objection. Other parties to the objection are the objector and the White Hill Schools Trust (the trust) which is the admission authority for the school.

Police report – Sergeant Roy Evans (RE), PC Gavin McVeigh (GM), PC Matt Cumming, PCSO Lucy Sandford & PCSO Lucy Groves From September Community Forum – Top 3 1; Burglary 2; Drug dealing 3; Speeding Burglary Area CID review all burglaries and lead on investigations considering forensic and CCTV opportunities. Victims of burglaries will receive crime prevention advice from NHP. This includes cocooning with neighbours and victims being offered SMARTWATER property marking kits. Neighbourhood Policing has been tackling burglaries by being involved in a number of cross border operations with other forces targeting criminals whilst they are travelling into our area from predicted locations. The Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NHPT) continue to attend events, conduct Have Your Says (HYS’s) and raise awareness of burglary. Figures show that Chiltern & South Bucks is the most targeted area in the force area by burglars. In response to this, peak seasonal trend analysis was carried out and the top 6 hotspot locations in Chiltern and South Bucks were identified. Surprisingly figures showed that roads were rarely burgled repeatedly in the same year. Identified areas included Hyde Heath, Amersham and Chalfont St Giles. Working with Neighbourhood Watch (NHW), a push was done to get residents of the roads affected by burglaries to join NHW and become more self-resilient. Crime advice was also given to them. 1 A number of events have been arranged to promote burglary reduction over the next two months, this will include additional crime advice at local Have Your Say events, commuter events and stalls at the Amersham Christmas Market Event.

Such schools are known as academy converters. Upon conversion to academy status the existing school closes and a new school opens in its place. Although little may have changed, the academy converter is a new legal entity. Most academy converters have yet to have a section 5 inspection. However, to assist parents and other interested parties, information about, and the inspection history of the school which preceded the new academy are available here. It is important to note that, as the academy converter is a new school, which may not yet have been inspected, the inspection judgements of the predecessor school are not those of the new academy. However, the most recent inspection judgements of the predecessor school are taken into account by Ofsted for the purpose of scheduling the first inspection of the new academy converter. Some academy converters have replaced schools which were judged to be outstanding at their most recent Ofsted inspection.   • Some Background Information About the School Ivingswood Was Opened
    Ivingswood Academy – some background information about the school Ivingswood was opened in September 2015 when the maintained school previously known as Little Spring became an Academy. The school is sponsored by White Hill Schools Trust, a multi academy trust formed in September 2015. Ivingswood Academy educates children from the age of 2 to the age of 11. Little Spring School was opened in September 2002. A lack of stability in leadership at the school over a period of some years led to it being deemed inadequate and being put into Special Measures by Ofsted. Securing sustainable leadership has therefore been a key priority for the Academy Trust and one of the Senior Leaders from the other school in the MAT, Chesham Grammar School, was deployed as Acting Headteacher in the summer term of 2016. Under the leadership of Mrs Sally Haynes much has been achieved and the school is making progress. A recent parental survey shows that the vast majority of parents are happy with the school and are confident that it is well led. Mrs Haynes committed to continuing in the role of Acting Headteacher for two academic years in order to bring some stability. Mrs Haynes will therefore leave Ivingswood at the end of the summer term 2018 and we are now seeking a permanent Headteacher for the school who can continue this work from September 2018. White Hill Schools Trust is deeply committed to improving Ivingswood Academy and to giving its pupils, many of whom come from disadvantaged homes, the best possible education and start in life.
