Chris Dobias

Since 1990, Scott Richmond Ltd. has been commit - ted to serving golf courses and community parks by provid - ing high quality, portable sanitary washrooms to replace the typical "Johnny on the spot" facility so commonly used at fes - tivals, campgrounds, golf courses and community parks. Owner Chris Dobias, who has been a general contractor for over 20 years, was fortunate enough to know the origina - tors of this system and saw it as a good business venture. He named the product “Scotty Pine Portables” after the inventor. The company has been steadily growing, moving from their original location in a rented barn to its current newly built location on Industrial Road in Delhi. No one else has this system – it is unique to this compa - ny and this region. These restrooms can be located any - where. They include an 800-gallon holding tank, eliminating the extra labour and expenses of installing septic beds or sewer lines. They are ideal for golf courses and parks where the regulations or locations would be impossible otherwise. Compared with a regular outhouse, these facilities are the Cadillac of outdoor toilets. The exterior is designed in rustic, rough-sawn pine with a finish to complement the surround - ings. The roof is clad with cedar shingles and a vinyl skylight. The interior is finished in gleaming white PVC plastic-mould - ed floor and walls, proper toilet, ceramic sink and a ventila - tion system. They come in all shapes and sizes and can be customized for each customer. Scotty Pine Portables employs six staff during peak times. They deliver their products across Canada and United States.
