Overview of Sutton 10km-Nonsuch Park

From the start point, by the first tree on the Left on Fir Walk, it is the full width of the tarmac roadway until the 2nd Right turn just before the 5km mark; On this corner where if one were to follow the tarmac path it would be a very sharp Right turn, one is permitted to pass around the very last tree before the large blue sign on the tarmac corner saying “Ewell East Station, Epsom, Epsom Downs”, cutting across the grass (about 5 metres) to rejoin the tarmac; It is tarmac path only then up to exiting the gate at London Road. There are no restrictions at this Right turn to then use just the Right hand pavement; On turning Right into Wickham Avenue, the pavement on both sides and the full width of the road are permitted until turning Right on to Malden Road; Malden Road is Right Hand pavement only until turning Right just before Tilehurst Road, into Cheam Park; In Cheam Park it is tarmac path only with one exception, which is having taken the 90 degree sharp Left turn, a very minor short cut across the grass (about 40 metres) to rejoin near the children’s playground may be un- enforceable and too tempting for some runners and so is permitted; The curve after the 8km point in Cheam Park will need taping or similar to ensure runners keep to the tarmac path here; On exiting Cheam Park it is the shortest possible route using the pathway and cycleway that are permitted back to Nonsuch Park, where full width of The Avenue is again permitted to begin the next identical full lap; The third time of arrival at the Mansion courtyard/café area, it is full width of tarmac path (no cutting across the grass) round back to the starting tree, which gets passed to the Left with a 93.5m finishing stretch on grass parallel with the line of trees and Fir Walk.
