About Into Film Into Film is an education charity that puts film at the heart of children and young people’s educational, cultural and personal development. Over half of UK schools engage with our programme of film clubs, special cinema screenings, and resources and training to support classroom teaching. Alongside rich online content for young audiences, this provides 5-19 year-olds with inspiring opportunities to learn about and with film, and develop a passion for cinema. Role summary Reporting to the Training Manager, the Learning Co-ordinator is part of the Learning team within Into Film and is responsible for devising, commissioning and delivering high-quality film-focused online training, face-to-face courses for teachers and resources for use predominantly in school classroom settings and Into Film clubs. They are also a point of contact within the organisation for educational advice and input and work closely across a range of teams and specialisms, both internally and with external partners. Within this small team, they manage the Learning Officer. The specific responsibilities for this role are:

• In collaboration with the Training Manager, be the senior point of contact for planning, writing, overseeing, facilitating and moderation of exciting online course content and corresponding face-to-face training modules for educators and young people. • In collaboration with the Resources Manager, plan, write, oversee, facilitate educational resources for use in the classroom, including commercial resources and materials that are educator or young person facing. • To oversee or support Learning team members and freelancers on LMS content • To develop and maintain successful relationships with delivery partners, Into Film staff and freelancers including those delivering face-to-face training. • To work with the Digital team in order to incorporate digital interactive possibilities into resources and training. • To request and work collaboratively on footage for resources and training with our Production team and freelancers. • To support the Business Development Team by contributing to Schools Marketing Proposals (mainly teaching resources) to generate income. • To research schools and other organisations’ needs in all four nations in terms of film-focused resources and training. • To positively contribute to the development of the VOD/LMS platform regarding learning content of all types and from a variety of sources.

• To assist management in ensuring work is evaluated and quality assured effectively, and changes implemented. • To provide resource and training support across all areas of our work. • To keep the wider organisation informed about educational updates and initiatives, providing or organising in-house training. • To support the nations’ staff with resource production. • To manage the Initial Teacher Training programme, support the participating institutions and evaluate its outcomes. More general responsibilities include to:

• Contribute to long term planning to ensure that Into Film grows in line with demand and available resources. • Contribute to the development of Into Film’s equal opportunities policies and establishing a culture of equality of opportunity. • Ensure you and other members of the Learning Team are familiar with Into Film’s policies with regard to child protection, health and safety, data protection, IT and general employment as well as other Into Film’s policies or guidelines that may be introduced from time to time. • Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by Into Film.

Person Specification Essential: • Demonstrable experience of planning, writing, overseeing and facilitating/moderating written online course content from inception to publication • Demonstrable experience in Learning Management Systems and online learning • Significant experience of relationship building with external partners and across internal teams • Proven research, presentation and persuasive communication skills • Knowledge and experience of devising evaluation and quality assurance processes and delivery • UK teaching experience and the ability to train and support peers • A good understanding of the 4 nations differing education systems and curriculums • Experience of working with or good understanding of Initial Teacher Training with demonstrable experience of engaging with these or similar partner organisations

Desirable: • At least one year’s staff line management experience All employees regularly working with children and member data are required to undertake and maintain enhanced DBS clearance (and/or Access NI check or Disclosure Scotland check, depending on working location), acquired at Into Film’s expense; employment is dependent upon this.
