Working and living in the Houston area for more than 10 years has allowed me to build relationships with various vendors at different price points, and therefore cater to the specific needs of each client. In 2016, I earned my Certified and Event Planner (CWEP) certification through a continuing education course, after graduating from Texas A&M University in 2015. I worked with Houston Grand Opera for two years, coordinating large and small-scare special events for our patrons and donors. Package pricing is dependent upon the overall budget of your event. Additional services, outside of those included in the various packages, will require additional costs. Please communicate your wishes to me directly, and we will work out reasonable pricing.

Contract Details

Communication Services I will be available for communication by email and phone at all times, except when I specifically notify you otherwise in advance. I will be sure to reply to your messages within 48 hours, and you can text me if it is more urgent. Limited responses outside of business hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

Pricing The initial deposit for my services will be $450. This will reserve the date of your event, as well as any additional days of your choosing. The prices listed in the package descriptions are estimates, based on past pricing and costs. Package pricing is dependent upon the overall budget of your event. My final dues will be 10-15% of the final cost of your event. Additional services, outside of those included in the various packages, will require additional costs.

Payment Schedule A deposit of $250 will be paid during our first meeting, if you choose to employ me for your event. Final dues must be paid within 7 days of the event.

Cancellation Policy Any cancellation of services will be dependent on individual vendors’ timelines and policies. For my services, I will require 30 days’ notice in order to take care of the rest of the cancellations. I cannot refund your deposit.

Project 2 Short Essay The purpose of my business is to provide skilled budgeting, professional communication, strong vendor relationships, straight-forward contracts, and exceptional results to all of my clients. Our expertise will be not only to creatively produce events, but also doing so responsibly—being aware of and catering to the budget constraints necessary in their event. Products and services will include events of all kinds, largely focusing on corporate events and as they are in high demand, and what I am most experienced in planning. Packages can be readily altered as needed for each client, accepting all religious, cultural, societal variants. To be competitive in the current market in Houston, Texas, prices specifically for weddings will total near the average annual spending for the area: $29,000. That allows our planners to have set hourly rates, but build relationships with various vendors at different price points. Depending on the bride’s/client’s knowledge of the market and/or vendor costs, we will make our suggestions while considering the event budget. I would like to be able to provide my clients with affordable options, rather than offering extravagant events only when there’s an extravagant budget to work with. Ultimately, I would prefer to develop my skills and create a reputation for myself as an event planner before going into business for myself or with a few colleagues. After 1-5 years of building my resume as a wedding and/or corporate events planner, I will have saved enough money to be able to handle the risk of introducing a new company/event planning firm and begin marketing my specific talents. I expect to begin making a profit— however small—within the first five years of business. This will be dependent on marketing our services effectively. After 10 years of business, I would like to have a solid client base (returning clients for corporate events, referrals for weddings, etc.). I would like to have hired on at least one more person to join my planning firm, and grow our services with the growth of our company. I plan to be well-known in the Houston community, and to be a go-to resource for clients wanting a memorable event.
