Teodorico Lacia, vice president of Kalikasang Dalisay para sa Mamamayan ng Plaridel (KaDaMay Plaridel), strongly opposed the establishment of a steel plant in Barangay Parulan arguing that it is not technically and legally feasible. He stressed that the steel plant, aside from being a heavy polluting industry, is situated on a vast stretch of prime agricultural land with a main irrigation canal. KaDaMay Plaridel filed a petition for the revocation of the said land conversion orders with the DAR.
