North Chichester Infrastructure Plan Prioritisation Appendix Agenda Item No. 6 Appendix A North Chichester County Local Committee – Infrastructure Plan Prioritisation Proposed Priorities • The introduction of 20's Plenty, subject to public consultation within various settlements across the North Chichester County Local Committee Area. • Junction Improvement – South Harting Square (junction of B2146/ The Square and North Lane), scheme to remove the filter lane that serves left turn vehicle movements onto the B2146. • School Safety Zones – Develop and deliver School Safety Zones at schools where they do not currently exist. Initial schemes: a). Rake Church of England Primary School, London Road (measures may include; improved yellow backed school signage together with red anti-skid and slow markings), b). Harting Church of England Primary School, c). Midhurst Church of England Primary School, Bepton Rd - (measures may include a new side access to school site and a crossing point with new dropped kerbs and tactile paving). • Pedestrian Crossing Facility - A272, near the junction with Habin Hill (westside), Rogate. • Safety measures and improvements to enhance the hamlet of Fisherstreet, and improve the safety of the Cripplecrutch Hill crossroads. • Options Appraisal Study - Investigate the existing double white line system on the A272, through the village of Wisborough Green, as a result of concerns from the Parish Council of overtaking through the village. Items highlighted for future Infrastructure Plan Prioritisation and/or to be progressed in other ways: • Lynchmere PC – Road safety concerns along B2131 • Fernhurst PC – Road Safety concerns around Henley Hill and Cooksbridge • Wisborough Green PC - Provision of Lay-bys in Durbans Road. • Petworth PC - Pedestrian Crossing on Church Street, possibility of shared surface, the National Trust would like to develop a walking route into Petworth from Petworth House • Fittleworth PC - Traffic calming through the village, along the B2138 • Fittleworth PC - Widening of the footpath between School Lane and the Village Shop (Lower Street). • Bepton PC - Footpath improvements; raising the footpath along Bepton Road due to continual flooding. • Compton PC - widening the edge of carriageway to create a footway between the cottages towards 100 acres and the vicarage. • Lodsworth PC – Junction Improvement, nr Hollist Arm (School Lane). • Lurgashall PC – traffic calming through the village, there is no speed limit and the Parish are not keen on introducing one as a result of the associated signage • Rogate PC – Road safety concerns along the A272, at Wenham Manor • Harting PC – traffic calming throughout village, possibility of introducing VAS signs, • Milland PC – traffic calming throughout village. • Loxwood PC – effective traffic calming; between village boundary and Alfold, through village centre, on Station Road and Willets Way, on Plaistow Road, Vicarage Hill, at the pedestrian crossing between Spy Lane and North Hall • Loxwood PC – introduction of calming islands at The Sir Roger Titchbourne, St. John the Baptist, and North Hall • Loxwood PC – permissive cycle path on the footpath between Ifold and Loxwood Via Devils Hole Bridge, removing the obstruction at the bridge in Ifold and Kissing gate at Devils Hole Small-Scale Works • Lurgashall PC - Warning Triangles, pedestrian in the road signs • Lurgashall PC – Village Green – Any practical works to protect green areas from vehicle parking. • Fernhurst PC – Deer Signs on Vann Road • Wisborough Green PC - A dropped kerb to be built in along Garmans, opposite the School. • Petworth PC - Erection of railings, repair of paving stones and widening of footpath on the corner; Cars continually parking outside Co-op on the double yellow lines causing severe damage to the footway. • Milland PC – Parking provision at Hollycombe school • Milland PC – Widening/realigning of footpath by Mill Vale Mews • Tillington PC – repair of verge on the Upperton Road just north of the Village Hall Asset Management (Maintenance) Orientated Works • Bignor PM – Flooding around Stone Cottage Corner • Bignor PM – Flooding on Mill Hill • Bignor PM – flooding on Back Lane • Bignor PM – resurfacing of Bignor Down Lane • Lynchmere PC – Flooding on Highfield Lane • Duncton PC- Flooding at the entrance of Willet Close and Lilac Cottage • Wisborough Green PC - Flooding in Kirdford Road. • Midhurst PC - Replacement of ADS on Bepton Road. • Stedham and Iping PC - Flooding on A272. • Kirdford PC - Resurfacing Glasshouse Lane. • Stedham and Iping PC – Patching works along School Lane • Loxwood PC – Flooding at the northern end of the village boundary, the rear of properties on the West side of Spy Lane and on Station Road and Burley Close Traffic Regulation Orders • Wisborough Green PC - The lengthening the double yellow lines opposite the Cricketers Arms. • Wisborough Green PC – creating a buffer zone before the 30mph • Fernhurst PC – Reducing speed down Henley Hill, from 50mph to 40mph • Fittleworth PC - Single yellow line around the corner on School Lane • Midhurst PC - Parking throughout town. • Compton PC - moving the 30mph speed limit to before the recreation ground. • Fittleworth PC - Request for a weight restriction along the B2138. • Rogate PC – Speed Reduction 50mph to 40mph, along the B2070 at Hill Brow, Rake • Bury PC – use of HGV’s along Houghton Lane • Milland PC – moving 30mph further down Iping road • Loxwood PC – Weight restriction on B2133 .

District / County Councillor reports i) Community Green Offer (CGO) WSCC have announced a Community Green Offer (CGO) Pilot Project which began on 16th October across the Chichester District. The CGO has been developed with the aim of assisting the City, Town and Parish Councils and Community Groups to volunteer to undertake a range of work to help maintain the highway including cutting and clearance. The closest “tool library” is the Fire Station in Midhurst. The CGO includes: • access to training • the loan of tools and other equipment • insurance cover (subject to certain conditions) • support from the area highways teams The CGO can assist communities with tasks you may already have in mind or may help progress altogether new ideas. It also provides an opportunity to undertake street scene maintenance and improvement work that may have been delivered by the former Community Support Team or Highway Rangers.
