DAY DAY USEFUL INFORMATION ACTIVITY Journey Time: 11hrs 50 mins Depart UK for Singapore We will meet at London Heathrow airport (T2) in the morning at least 3 hours Travel Distance: 10,874KM before departure, giving us plently of time to check in as a team. Our overnight flight departs in the afternoon on Singapore Airlines flight (SQ305) at 13:35. 1 Saturday 16 July 2016 Accommodation: overnight flight Dinner will be served on the plane. Laundry: none Overnight flight. Money exchange services: Heathrow Airport Journey Time: 40min Singapore After our overnight flight we arrive at Singapore Changi airport at 09:25. On arrival you will be met by, our in-country agent, Vacation Asia, and taken by private bus to your accomodation at the 5footway Inn Project Boat Quay hostel. After refreshing you will be collected from your hotel and taken to the McRitchie Travel Distance: 13.2KM Reservoir for a 5km guided walk. We will have a packed lunch on arrival at the reservoir, making sure to avoid the hungry monkeys! In the evening, we will take a short walk to have dinner at the bustling Maxwell Road Hawker Market and explore China Town. Journey Time: 6hrs Singapore to Bukit Lawang In the morning we will be collected early and taken to the airport for breakfast and our flight to Medan. Depart Singapore Changi airport (T2) at 07:40 on SilkAir flight (MI234), arriving Kualanamu International airport at 08:00. Travel Distance: 805KM On arrival we will be met by our in country agent, Mel from Adventure Indonesia, and taken by bus to our accommodation, Rindu Alam, in Bukit Lawang. Here you will have the rest of the afternoon to explore your surroundings. There is an eco trail for you to explore that will help you acclimatise to jungle life and learn about 3 Monday 18 July 2016 the plants you will see. Accommodation: Rindu Alam Eco trail details - we'll have 2 guides to show us round the trail. We'll have breakfast at the airport, lunch & dinner will be at your hotel's dining Laundry: none room. Money exchange services: at the airports Journey Time: NA Bukit Lawang After breakfast in our hotel, we'll enter Bukit Lawang national park and trek through the jungle to see the Orangutang's. After a packed lunch the journey back Travel Distance: NA to town will be on the river by rafts. We'll need to wear our rafting clothes for the trek. 4 Tuesday 19 July 2016 Accommodation: Rindu Alam http://www.bukitlawang.com/ Breakfast & dinner will be in our hotel. We'll have a packed lunch on our day out Laundry: none in the jungle. Money exchange services: none Journey Time: 8hrs Bukit Lawang - Lake Toba (Parapat) After breakfast in our hotel, travel to Lake Toba by bus. This is a long journey so we'll try to stop on the way to have a look at some oil and rubber plantations. Travel Distance: 252KM When we arrive in Parapat we'll be able to relax in the picquresque surroundings of Lake Toba. Accommodation: Hotel Pandu 5 Wednesday 20 July 2016 Breakfast will be at our hotel and we'll stop en route to Lake Toba for lunch at a traditional Sumatran style Restaurant Panorama (Pematang Siantar town). When Laundry: none we arrive at Lake Toba (Parapat) we'll go by bus to have dinner at the Hong Kong restaurant. Money exchange services: none Journey Time: 9hrs Lake Toba (Parapat) - Padang Sidempuan After breakfast, we can enjoy a swim in Lake Toba before begin our journey by bus down the Trans-Sumatran Highway, stopping for lunch, along the way. If time Travel Distance: 255KM allows we may also get the chance to stop off and see some more traditional villages. 6 Thursday 21 July 2016 Accommodation: Hotel Natama Syariah We'll have breakfast at our hotel and take a lunch box for the journey. Money exchange services: none Journey Time: 10hrs Padang Sidempuan - Bukittinggi (Harau Valley) Leaving our hotel very early, we'll spend the day getting to Bukittinggi and head straight for our accommdation for some well earnt rest after 3 days of travel. Travel Distance: 282KM Whilst on the journey be sure to look at the stunning sceneery as we make our way through jungle & rice paddy fields. A highlight of the journey will definately be stopping at the equator! 7 Friday 22 July 2016 Accommodation: The Orchid Hostel Breakfast will be at our hotel, and again we'll have a packed lunch box for the Laundry: you'll be able to wash journey. When we arrive we'll walk a short distance to a local restaurant where some small items here we'll be having dinner. Money exchange services: none Journey Time: none Bukittinggi (Harau Valley) Today you will awake in the beautiful Harau Valley in the area of the 50 Kota. In the morning we will get involved with the community by helping them with the rice planting, on a guided tour. The landscape is partiularly stunning, with big Travel Distance: NA contracts between the amazing rock formations and the rice paddy fields. After lunch we'll be learning how to pole ourselves down the river on traditional bamboo rafts, atking it in turns to push our teammates down river. We'll need to ake sure we wear our swimming clothes today. 8 Saturday 23 July 2016 Accommodation: The Orchid Today's activities will be having a tour of the local rice paddy fields and learning Hostel how to pole oursleves on traditional bamboo rafts. Laundry: you'll be able to wash Breakfast will be at the same restaurant as dinner the previous night, we'll have a some small items here packed lunch and dinner back in the restaurant. Money exchange services: none Journey Time: 3hrs Bukittinggi (Harau Valley) - Padang After breakfast we'll spend the morning visiting the Japanese caves and going up Travel Distance: 125KM the watchtower in Bukittinggi, before our afternoon journey to Padang. In the afternoon we will have some JoLt time. Accommodation: Hotel Havilla 9 Sunday 24 July 2016 Caves & watchtower visit (Bukittinggi). Maranatha Laundry: you'll be able to wash Breakfast will be as on the day before (in the local restaurant), we'll have lunch in some small items here town and dinner in a restaurant in Padang. Money exchange services: none Journey Time: 1,603KM Padang - Jakarta After breakfast in our hotel we will be collected and taken to the airport (by bus) in plenty of time for our flight (11:55 - 13:50) to Jakarta. Upon arrival in Jakarta we Travel Distance: 1.55hrs will be taken to the old square for a walking tour. From here we will be taken to our hotel where we will be spending the night. We'll be able to walk round the corner to the restaurant where we'll have dinner, Accommodation: Istana Ratu Today we'll fly to Jakarta and have a short walking tour of the city centre old 10 Monday 25 July 2016 Hotel square. Laundry: you'll be able to wash Breakfast will be in our hotel, we'll get some lunch at the airport and in the some small items here evening we'll have a choice of meals from the Daoen Sirih restaurant. Money exchange services: available in the hotel or in central Jakarta Journey Time: 3.5hrs Jakarta - Cianjur (Jungle Programme) This morning we will visit the Monus tower 1st thing (arriving before 08:00 to miss the crowds), before travelling by private bus (3hrs) to the Jungle, arriving around Travel Distance: 110KM lunchtime. In the we will test our team's survival skills including cooking, building shelters, identifying plants & navigation. There are magnificant views over Jakarata from the Monus tower. The Jungle 11 Tuesday 26 July 2016 Accommodation: Campsite Programme, will teach us many new skills as well as being our first camping experience! Laundry: none Breakfast at our hotel, lunch and dinner will be at our overnight camp. Money exchange services: available in central Jakarta Journey Time: Cianjur (Floating village tour) Today we'll visit the floating village of Cianjur, travelling by boat to reach the bamboo built village, where we will see trading in the market and maybe even get Travel Distance: a foot fish spa! In the afternoon we might get the chance to visit a local chocolate plantation, but be prepared for the mosquitos! 12 Wednesday 27 July 2016 A boat tour of the floating village, coupled with the chance to visit a local Accommodation: Homestay chocolate plantation will be today's highlights. Laundry: available Breakfast at the homestay, lunch with school and dinner at homestay. Money exchange services: none Journey Time: Cianjur (local school visit) Today we'll be spending the day with a local school. We'll get the chance to meet people who work and go to the school, and we'll also be able to take trips together Travel Distance: to the markets to buy food so we can be taught how to cook the Cianjur way as well as getting together for some team building games.

Walsh School of Law As one of the most pressing global health priorities, HIV disruption requires effective transnational work. There is growing confidence among experts about ending AIDS by 2030. In Indonesia, a country with one of Asia’s fastest-growing HIV epidemics, the law is instrumental to achieve that goal. Nonetheless, national laws and policies that undermine HIV prevention are continuously being adopted or preserved. This suggests that the presence of global health jurisprudence does not necessarily lead to national legal processes to enable HIV prevention policies. This situation raises the central question of whether the perpetuation of national legal barriers to HIV prevention is associated with Indonesia’s internalization of global health jurisprudence. This study uses Professor Harold Koh’s transnational legal process theory to examine the transfer of global health jurisprudence by looking at Indonesia’s interaction at the global level, interpretation of norms, and domestic internalization thereof. As a multi-method study with an inductive reasoning approach, this research utilizes a qualitative data analysis of international organizations’ laws and policies, public/private institutions’ policies, international treaties, Indonesian laws, and relevant public records.

    Original article A morphometric analysis of Apis cerana F and Apis nigrocincta Smith populations from Southeast Asia MS Damus GW Otis Environmental Biology, University of Guelph, Guelph, ON N1G 2W1, Canada (Received 15 August 1996; accepted 14 August 1997) Summary — Apis cerana F and Apis nigrocincta Smith, two species of Asian cavity nesting honey bees, were analyzed for interpopulation morphological variation using conventional morphometric techniques. The well-known honey bee subspecies Apis cerana cerana and A c japonica are confirmed as being distinct from the rest of A cerana, even though the analysis removed the confounding influ- ence of ’overall size’ from the data set. There are at least three other morphologically distinct groups: one ranging from Sri Lanka through to Flores and central Sulawesi, a second group so far only found in southern Sulawesi, and a group from Timor. A large phenetic shift has occurred in the second Sulawesi group, indicating that it may have evolved in isolation for a long period of time, or under- gone rapid divergence following a more recent bottleneck event. A nigrocincta is shown to be pre- sent over most of western Sulawesi, on Mindanao and on Sangihe, a small island between Min- danao and Sulawesi. The Mindanao and Sulawesi forms are distinct, but the small sample size did not allow for subspecific recognition. Bees from Luzon, previously identified as A c philippina, are shown to be very distinct from both A cerana and A nigrocincta, and the possibility of their belong- ing to the species A nigrocincta is discussed.
