ITV Wins Gold in Channel of the Year at PromaxBDA UK Awards 10.31.2014 Channel 4's in-house agency 4Creative, ITV, Liberty Global, the BBC, and Red Bee Media were among the big winners at the 2014 PromaxBDA UK Promotion, Marketing and Design Awards in London on Friday. ITV took home the Gold Channel of the Year prize at the annual awards celebrating the best of British creativity in the fields of entertainment marketing, promotion and design. Channel 4 won the silver prize in the same category, while Quest took the bronze. Other companies earning multiple wins include A+E Networks UK, Discover Creative London, MTV Creative UK, 5Creative, UKTV, and Turner Broadcasting. Discovery Creative London, UKTV, RKCR/Y&R, Turner Broadcasting, Liberty Global and MTV Creative UK. Categories honor everything from Best Drama Promo to Most Innovative Use of Digital to Best Channel Identity. Among the winners Friday night: -ITV won gold in Best Entertainment Promo (Originated) for I'm a Celebrity… The channel also took silver in the same category for X-Factor. 4Creative took bronze for Singer Takes It All. -4 Creative won gold in Best Factual Promo (Originated) for Psychopath Night, as well as silver for Space. Discovery Creative London won the bronze for Shackleton Death or Glory. -BBC Wales won the gold in Best Poster or Outdoor for Dylan Thomas 100. 4Creative won silver for Utopia 2, and UKTV/Red Bee Media took bronze for Perfect Storms-UKTV, Yesterday. -The BBC and Red Bee Media swept the Most Innovative Use of Digital category, winning all three metals. Gold went to Sherlock Interactive-BBC One; Silver was awarded to The New Doctor Lands - YouTube Game; and bronze went to Doctor Who 50th - BBC One. -In the Something for Nothing category, which honors creative work completed on a tight budget, A+E Networks UK won gold for A Town & Country Murder. Discovery Creative London won silver for Web of Lies-Investigation Discovery, and Turner took bronze for Jampire. The awards also celebrate emerging industry talent with the Best Newcomer Award, which recognizes the outstanding work of a creative professional in the UK with less than 24 months of work experience, and who also "embodies the Promax spirit." Red Bee Media claimed two prizes in the prestigious category: Charlotte Humphreys won the gold, while Andy Evans took home the silver. ITV's Nicola McBride won the bronze prize. The 2014 PromaxBDA UK Awards were handed out in a live ceremony Friday evening at The Royal Institution. The awards marked the closing of the association's annual UK conference.
