A situation that has developed and changes weekly. There can be no denying the exponential growth in this virus’s spread, so as you are no doubt aware, there are a number of government restrictions and health recommendations which are already in place, and new ones being introduced at times, we seem to have respectable control of the Virus in Queensland, but this still will affect the way the Queensland Corvette Club Inc. can operate in the future. The Management Committee conveys to all QCC Members that they must comply with all the up to date Government Regulations/Restrictions & respect your other Members & their Family on all Events/ Runs going into the future. • Making History at Le Mans with Porsche: Hubauto Racing’S Morris Chen Interview
Making history at Le Mans with Porsche: HubAuto Racing’s Morris Chen interview One of Porsche’s many legacies in motorsport is its unwavering success at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Over the years, the German marque has secured the most victories, podiums and pole positions of any manufacturer, and claimed many other accolades including the longest winning streak. In 2021, Porsche will make Le Mans history yet again. Taipei-based HubAuto Racing will become the frst Asian team to compete in the LMGTE Pro class when the famous tricolore drops on Saturday afernoon to mark the start of the 89th running of the legendary event. The Pro category has generally been reserved for factory outfts, such as the Porsche GT Team operated by Manthey Racing, with customer teams traditionally competing in LMGTE Am. But this bucking of the trend signals a statement of intent to compete with the best of the best. Founder and Team Principal Morris Chen said he is “immensely proud” of the eforts his team has put in. “What started as a dream has now become a reality,” he added. “We are looking forward to a very competitive race and strong results. We also need to bear in mind our history with Porsche. This strong relationship ensures we are very confdent of taking on the challenges of Le Mans in the Porsche 911 RSR. How remarkable would it be to achieve a podium result and create Porsche Motorsport history for the Asian region?” A racer himself, Morris knows what it takes to be successful. His time with Porsche stretches back to 2017 where he occupied a seat in one of the two Porsche 911 GT3 R HubAuto Racing entered in China GT.

It was a debut made to order: At its first ever outing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans last year, the Porsche 911 RSR brought home a double victory. At the 82nd edition of the world’s most famous long distance race, contested on the Circuit des 24 Heures on 14/15 June, Porsche Team Manthey will again field a pair of 911 RSR in the GTE-Pro class. newsroom Motorsports Sep 30, 2016 72 races, 21 wins, 8 championship titles Petit Le Mans, the final round of the IMSA SportsCar Championship held on 1st October on the storied Road Atlanta racetrack, will be the last works-campaign for the Porsche 911 RSR. Since its debut in 2013, this race car has contested a total of 72 races in the WEC Sports Car World Endurance Championship, the IMSA SportsCar Championship in the USA and Canada as well as the European Le Mans Series fielded by factory and customer teams – and secured 21 victories and eight championship titles. Together, we have worked hard, we never gave up and we constantly came up with new ideas on how to assert ourselves in a competitive environment. The successes that the 911 RSR achieved against strong competition at major international sports car race series are the rewards for all our efforts. The 911 RSR is a success story in global GT motorsport.” 911 RSR: systematic lightweight design and sophisticated aerodynamics The maiden race of the 911 RSR, which is characterised by systematic lightweight design and sophisticated aerodynamics, celebrated its race premiere at Silverstone on April 14, 2013.

Patrick Long’s & Sebastien Bourdais’ Comments About the 8th Annual Kart 4 Kids Pro-Am Kart Race It’s only fitting that this year’s 8th annual Kart 4 Kids charity karting event takes place just a few steps from the entrance of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St Pete. It’s also just a stone’s throw from Dan Wheldon Way. Each year the event grows, the funds raised increase, and the awareness around a special hospital and a group of kids accelerate. Thank you to our hosts, all of the sponsors, partners, donors, pro drivers, and especially the large committee of great volunteers who make the production of this event happen. This event started off as a humble gathering, with the goal of raising a few dollars in the name of Dan Wheldon for the Hospital. Dan was a St. Pete resident, and someone who had a lot of time for All Children’s. We continue to race in his memory and smile as status and organization of this gathering continues to reach new boundaries! A few milestones were reached in 2018 for Kart for Kids. We managed to donate 130k$ to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, bring the event downtown and reinforce the involvement of the community and sponsors thanks to our amazing group of volunteers. The response from the racing community was no less impressive, with many drivers from different series donating their apparel and time. 2019 will be no less impressive and I want to thank each and every individual for their continued support.
