On-Course Contest Rules

A qualified member/player is one who has purchased the On-Course Contest Package, either as a single or as a foursome.

Max Score on any hole: Bogey. If your score is bogey, pick up and move to the next hole.

Pace of Play. Please endeavor to complete each hole in 15 minutes or less.

Hole 1: Win a Game, Play Up. Each qualified member of the foursome participates in the pre- off contest. If no player wins the game, each member of the foursome takes their tee shot from the designated teeing ground. If any qualified member of the foursome has won the pre-tee off contest, the foursome’s first strokes may be taken in accordance with the Patriot Golf Day scramble rules or from the designated area about 110 yards below the hole in the center of the fairway. The foursome’s remaining strokes are taken in accordance with the Patriot Golf Day scramble rules.

Hole 2: Traditional Closest to the Pin. Regular Scramble Rules. Any qualified player may compete in the Closest to the Pin contest. The object is to be the golfer that hits the ball closest to the hole for the day. A marker will be provided by the for golfers to identify the closest shot to the hole. Each member of the foursome takes their tee shot from the designated teeing ground. The foursome’s next strokes are taken in accordance with the Patriot Golf Day scramble rules. The qualified player that hits the ball closest to the hole for the day wins.

Hole 3: With Luck, Play Up. Each member of the foursome takes their tee shot from the designated teeing ground. If any player’s lies in any of the designated areas, the foursome’s next strokes are taken from the designated area on the green. The foursome’s following strokes are taken in accordance with the Patriot Golf Day scramble rules.

Hole 4: Hit the Tub on the Pond. Stop at the Hit-the-Tub teeing ground (the usual middle ) before continuing this hole. Each qualified member of the foursome participates in the Hit- the-Tub pre-tee off contest. If any qualified member of the foursome has won the pre-tee off contest by landing a chip shot in the tub floating on the pond (even if the ball bounces out of the tub), the foursome’s first strokes are taken from the designated area on the green. If no qualified member has won the pre-tee off contest, the foursome’s first strokes are taken only in accordance with the Patriot Golf Day scramble rules. The designated teeing ground for both men and women is the forward teeing ground.

Hole 5: Bunker to Bunker. Each member of the foursome takes their tee shot from the designated teeing ground. If any player’s drive lies in any fairway bunker, the foursome’s next strokes may be taken from either the greenside bunker or the location of one of the other players’ drives not in a fairway bunker. The foursome’s remaining strokes are taken in accordance with the Patriot Golf Day scramble rules.

Hole 6: Straightest Drive. Regular Scramble Rules. Any qualified player may compete in the Straightest Drive contest. The object is to be the golfer that hits the ball closest for the day to the line in the fairway. A marker will be provided by the golf course for golfers to identify the straightest drive. Each member of the foursome takes their tee shot from the designated teeing ground. If the qualified player’s drive is closer to the line in the fairway than the marked drive, whether shorter or longer, relocate the drive mark and record the player’s name on the card. The foursome’s next strokes are taken in accordance with the Patriot Golf Day scramble rules. The drive closest for the day to the straightest drive line wins.

Hole 7: Play Up w/ Danger. Each qualified member of the foursome participates in the pre-tee off contest. If any qualified member of the foursome has won the pre-tee off contest, the foursome’s first strokes are taken from the designated area in the middle of the fairway 210 yards from the green. If no qualified member has won the pre-tee off contest, the foursome’s first strokes must be taken from the designated area in the rough to the right of the fairway.

Hole 8: Longest Drive. Regular Scramble Rules. Any qualified player may compete in the Longest Drive contest. The object is to be the golfer that hits the ball farthest for the day while remaining in the fairway. A marker will be provided by the golf course for golfers to identify the longest drive. Each member of the foursome takes their tee shot from the designated teeing ground. If the qualified player’s drive is farther in the fairway than the marked drive, relocate the drive mark and record the player’s name on the card. The foursome’s next strokes are taken in accordance with the Patriot Golf Day scramble rules. The drive farthest in the fairway for the day wins.

Hole 9: Pitching Drive. Regular Scramble Rules. Each member of the foursome takes their tee shot from the designated teeing ground using a or similar club. The foursome’s next strokes are taken in accordance with the Patriot Golf Day scramble rules.

Hole 10: Play Up w/ Danger. Each qualified member of the foursome participates in the pre- tee off contest. If any qualified member of the foursome has won the pre-tee off contest, the foursome’s first strokes are taken from the designated area in the middle of the fairway 150 yards from the green. If no qualified member has won the pre-tee off contest, the foursome’s first strokes must be taken from the designated area in the fairway bunker.

Hole 11: Traditional Closest to the Pin. Regular Scramble Rules. Any qualified player may compete in the Closest to the Pin contest. The object is to be the golfer that hits the ball closest to the hole for the day. A marker will be provided by the golf course for golfers to identify the closest shot to the hole. Each member of the foursome takes their tee shot from the designated teeing ground. The foursome’s next strokes are taken in accordance with the Patriot Golf Day scramble rules. The qualified player that hits the ball closest to the hole for the day wins.

Hole 12: Timed Play. Regular Scramble Rules. Any foursome with at least one qualified player may compete in the timed play contest. The object is to be the foursome that plays the hole in the shortest time for the day. Each member of the foursome takes their tee shot from the

The foursome’s next strokes are taken in accordance with the Patriot Golf Day scramble rules. A course marshal starts a timer with the fourth player’s tee stroke and stops the timer when the ball is holed, or when the ball is picked up with a bogey score. The shortest time wins, except when that time results from not playing the hole to completion. Prizes will be awarded to the winning foursome.

Hole 13: Non-traditional Closest to the Pin. Regular Scramble Rules. Any qualified player may compete in the Non-traditional Closest to the Pin contest. The object is to be the golfer that hits the ball closest to the hole for the day. A marker will be provided by the golf course for golfers to identify the closest shot to the hole. Each member of the foursome takes their tee shot from the designated teeing ground in the rough behind the green. The foursome’s next strokes are taken in accordance with the Patriot Golf Day scramble rules. The qualified player that hits the ball closest to the hole for the day wins.

Hole 14: Second Shot Closest to the Pin. Regular Scramble Rules. Any qualified player may compete in the Second Shot Closest to the Pin contest. The object is to be the golfer that hits the second shot ball closest to the hole for the day. A marker will be provided by the golf course for golfers to identify the closest second shot to the hole. Each member of the foursome takes their tee shot from the designated teeing ground. Each member of the foursome takes their second shot in accordance with the Patriot Golf Day scramble rules. This shot is used for the Second Shot closest to the pin contest. The foursome’s remaining strokes are taken in accordance with the Patriot Golf Day scramble rules. The qualified player that hits the second shot ball closest to the hole for the day wins.

Hole 15: Longest Putt. Regular Scramble Rules. Each member of the foursome takes their tee shot from the designated teeing ground. The foursome’s next strokes are taken in accordance with the Patriot Golf Day scramble rules, except that any foursome player may choose to putt from the longer of one of the foursome’s balls on the green. Other foursome players may putt from the closer ball. First ball holed is scored. Any qualified player may compete in the Longest Putt contest.

Hole 16: Opposite Hand Drive. Regular Scramble Rules. Each member of the foursome takes their tee shot from the designated teeing ground with the provided opposite hand drivers. That is, normal right-handed players use the left-handed driver and vice versa. The foursome’s next strokes are taken in accordance with the Patriot Golf Day scramble rules.

Hole 17: Short Hole. Regular Scramble Rules. Each member of the foursome takes their tee shot from the designated area by the forward fairway bunker (no tees allowed). The foursome’s next strokes are taken in accordance with the Patriot Golf Day scramble rules.

Hole 18: Enjoy the View and the Challenge. Regular Scramble Rules. Each member of the foursome takes their tee shot from the designated teeing ground. The foursome’s next strokes are taken in accordance with the Patriot Golf Day scramble rules.
