18.09.2019 – SITES VISITS: MINING & METALLURGY INVENTORY OF MARAMUREŞ –– Visit to Romaltyn Mining SA - owner of the Aurul Gold Tailings Retreatment Project which includes a CIP/ CIL metallurgical plant and a tailings deposition dam. Operations are presently closed but aiming to reopen in the near future –– Visit of abandoned polymetallic mines (Suior and Baia Sprie Mines) with potential for reopening – on-site presentation –– Visit to the „Central“ Flotation plant which was closed but preserved quite intact in view of future revival of the mining industry –– Visit to the Maramureș Museum of Mineralogy (Overview of Carpathian geology and minerals, presentation of major deposits) –– Discussion on the status of metallurgy and the capacity to contribute to the circular economy –– Evening reception

–– Sightseeing excursion to discover the picturesque beauty of Maramureș –– (Sapanta Merry Cemetery, traditional villages, UNESCO heritage wooden churches, –– beautiful scenery of the mountains)
