The plan was prepared within the context of existing legislation and regulations. It outlines the type and extent of outdoor recreation and tourism opportunities, facilities and services including the delivery of visitor services programs that assist Albertans and visitors to understand and appreciate our natural heritage while ensuring its ongoing conservation. The Management Plan was prepared with extensive public input and will be reviewed and revised periodically to reflect the current thinking of Albertans about how our natural heritage will be protected for present and future generations. The Minister responsible for Parks and Protected Areas has authorized the implementation of the Management Plan and retains the authority to amend or interpret its provisions.
