  • 2015 23Rd Annual Poets House Showcase Exhibition Catalog
2015 23rd Annual Poets House Showcase Exhibition Catalog |Poets House|10 River Terrace|New York, NY 10282|poetshouse.org| 5 The 2015 Poets House Showcase is made possible through the generosity of the hundreds of publishers and authors who have graciously donated their works. We are deeply grateful to Deborah Saltonstall Pease (1943 – 2014) for her foundational support. Many thanks are also due to the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts, the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, the Leon Levy Foundation, and the many members of Poets House for their support of this project. 6 I believe that poetry is an action in which there enter as equal partners solitude and solidarity, emotion and action, the nearness to oneself, the nearness to mankind and to the secret manifestations of nature. – Pablo Neruda Towards the Splendid City Nobel Lecture, 1971 WELCOME to the 2015 Poets House Showcase! Each summer at Poets House, we celebrate all of the poetry published in the previous year in an all-inclusive exhibition and festival of readings from new work. In this year’s Showcase, we are very proud to present over 3,000 poetry books, chapbooks, broadsides, artist’s books, and multimedia projects, which represent the work of over 700 publishers, from commercial publishers to micropresses, both domestic and foreign. For twenty-three years, the annual Showcase has provided foundational support for our 60,000-volume library by helping us keep our collection current and relevant. With each Showcase, Poets House—one of the most extensive poetry collections in the nation—continues to build this comprehensive poetry record of our time.

Dario Hrupec Extragalactic sources of rapidly variable high energy gamma radiation Doctoral Thesis submitted to the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, for the academic degree of Doctor of Natural Sciences (Physics) Zagreb 2008. This thesis was done at Ruder Boˇskovi´c Institute under the supervision of Professor Daniel Ferenc from the University of California at Davis. ii Acknowledgments I would like to thank my mentor Dr. Daniel Ferenc from the University of California at Davis for his great professional and personal support during my work on this thesis. I have received precious inspiration from him. Finally, he encouraged me to read a lot. It was an invaluable advice. I am thankful to my co-mentor Dr. Silvio Pallua from the Faculty of Science at Zagreb for his support and for the thesis review. I am also thankful to Dr. Kreˇsimir Pavlovski from the Faculty of Science at Zagreb for the thesis review. I am particularly thankful to him for his valuable support. In addition, his terminological arguments impressed me a lot. Many thanks to Dr. Matko Milin from Faculty of Science at Zagreb for the time he spent on reading and commenting my thesis. I really appreciate his being my committee member. I owe many thanks to Dr. Eckart Lorenz from the University of California at Davis and ETH-Zurich who made possible my observations with the Cerenkovˇ telescope 1 (CT1) at La Palma in 2003. His donation of two Cerenkovˇ telescopes to Ruder Boˇskovi´c Institute established a base for the Cosmic Ray Observatory At The Eastern Adriatic (CROATEA) and also for my work in astroparticle physics in Croatia.

Running Telecom/TT-Link and Trafman under Windows 7 (and up) using DOSbox 3/31/2014 Documentation written for: Telecom/TT-Link V3.97 or later. TrafMan V6.43 or later. DOSbox V0.74 or later. COM/IP V4.9.5 or later. TrafMan & Telecom/TT-Link on Windows 7 Page 1 of 10 I. Introduction and Initial Emulator Setup Microsoft discontinued support for MS-DOS level programs starting with Windows 7. This has made the operation of Telecom/TT-Link and TrafMan on systems with a Windows 7 or later operating systems problematical, to say the least. However, it is possible to achieve functionality (with some limits) even on a Windows 7 computer by using what is known as a “DOS Emulator”. Emulator’s simulate the conditions of an earlier operating system on a later one. For example, one of the most common emulators is called DOSbox (http://sourceforge.net/projects/dosbox/ ) and it is available as a free download for both PC and Mac computers. DOSbox creates an artificial MS-DOS level environment on a Windows 7 computer. Inside this environment you can run most DOS programs, including TrafMan and Telecom/TT-Link. This document describes how to utilize the DOSbox emulator for running Telecom/TT-Link and TrafMan. It should be noted, however, that other emulators may also work and this document can serve as a guide for setting up and using similar DOS emulators as they are available. Initial DOSbox Emulator Setup: 1) Download the latest release of DOSbox (0.74 or later) to your PC and install it.

Holding those you love, listen: To the cries of the dying, To the whisper of the wind over the silent dead, To the song my broken heart will ever sing Of the story of the Tree of the World And the death of all the dreams It once cradled in its mighty boughs. 1 PART ONE: IN THE IVORY TOWER In purity, all things are born. The eldest tree was once a tender sapling, And even the stars were young. O Lady Elune, Weep tears so sweet At the thought of the innocence That once was ours. Clang! The martial music of swordplay rang out as the two blades clashed. The combatants sprang apart, circling. The older man, hair and beard as white as moonlight, feinted, then brought his weapon arcing up and around. But the younger man was quick and deftly blocked the blow. Sparks flew, and the colliding blades glinted in the sunlight. “Nicely done,” Genn Greymane grunted even as he lunged. Again, the youth parried. “But one of these days, you’ll have to go on the—” Greymane barely got his sword up in time to prevent King Anduin Wrynn’s blow. “Offensive?” Anduin grinned. He bore down with the weapon, feeling the older man’s blade straining against it. His sun-colored hair had come loose and was falling into his eyes, and he grimaced as he realized Greymane had noticed. The Gilnean king abruptly pulled back. Caught off balance, Anduin stumbled forward.
