Plants available from the Salish Seeds Project The Salish Seeds Project primarily grows plants by advance order. Surplus plants are also occasionally available – it never hurts to ask. In addition, a selection of species in 4” pots are offered to the public annually at fall plant sale events on Orcas, Lopez, and San Juan Islands. Orders for species marked with an asterisk should be placed by October 31 for delivery the following summer or fall. Other species can be ordered by March 31 for delivery that same summer or fall. Please note minimum order quantities. To place an advance order or inquire about surplus, contact Eliza Habegger at the San Juan County Land Bank ([email protected]; 360-370-7653) regarding species and quantities desired. Don’t hesitate to ask if you’re looking for something that’s not on the list below, need assistance planning your native plant project, or have any related questions. Thank you for helping conserve and restore the wildflowers of the Salish Sea! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Plug 4”pot Bulb Scientific name Common name (min. 25) (min. 18) (min. 25) Achillea millefolium yarrow 0.90 3.50 ----- Agoseris grandiflora agoseris 0.90 3.50 ----- Allium acuminatum** Hooker’s onion ----- ----- .50 Allium cernuum* nodding onion 1.10 3.50 ----- Anaphalis margaritacea pearly everlasting 0.90 3.50 ----- Aquilegia formosa* western columbine 1.10 3.50 ----- Armeria maritima sea thrift .90 3.50 ----- Brodiaea coronaria harvest brodiaea ----- ----- .30 Camassia leichtlinii** Great camas ----- 3.50 1.00 -1.50 Castilleja hispida* rough paintbrush 1.20 3.50 ----- Castilleja levisecta*^ golden paintbrush 1.20 ----- ----- Castilleja miniata* common red paintbrush 1.20 3.50 ----- Cerastium arvense field chickweed 0.90 3.50 ----- Dodecatheon hendersonii* Henderson’s shooting star 1.50 4.10 ----- Elymus glaucus blue wild-rye 0.90 3.50 ----- Eriophyllum lanatum wooly sunflower 0.90 3.50 ----- Festuca roemeri Roemer’s fescue 0.90 3.50 ----- Festuca rubra red fescue 0.90 3.50 ----- Grindelia integrifolia Puget Sound gumweed 0.90 3.50 ----- Heuchera micrantha Small-flowered alumroot 0.90 3.50 ----- Lithophragma parviflora* prairie star 1.10 ----- ----- Lomatium nudicaule* barestem lomatium 1.10 3.50 ----- Updated August 2020 Plug 4”pot Bulb Scientific name Common name (min. 25) (min. 18) (min. 25) Lomatium utriculatum spring gold 0.90 3.50 ----- Lupinus littoralis seashore lupine 1.00 3.50 ----- Luzula subsessilis prairie woodrush 0.90 3.50 ----- Micranthes integrifolia* prairie saxifrage 1.10 3.50 ----- Olsynium douglasii satin flower 1.50 4.10 ----- Perideridia gairdneri* yampah 1.10 3.50 ----- Prunella vulgaris self-heal 0.90 3.50 ----- Quercus garryana+ Garry oak ----- 4.80 ----- Ranunculus occidentalis western buttercup 0.90 3.50 ----- Ribes divericatum coast black gooseberry 1.20 3.50 ----- Ribes sanguineum red flowering currant 1.20 3.50 ----- Sanicula bipinnatifida* purple sanicle 0.90 3.50 ----- Sanicula crassicaulis* Pacific sanicle 0.90 3.50 ----- Sedum spathulifolium Broad-leaved sedum 0.90 3.50 ----- Shepherdia canadensis soopalallie or buffalo berry 1.20 3.50 ----- Sidalcea hendersonii* Henderson’s checkermallow 1.20 3.50 ----- Sisyrinchium idahoense* blue-eyed grass 1.20 3.50 ----- Solidago canadensis Canada goldenrod 0.90 3.50 ----- Symphiotrichum subspicatum Douglas aster 0.90 3.50 ----- Toxicoscordion venenosus** death camas ----- ----- 1.00 -1.50 Viola adunca* early blue violet 1.20 3.50 ----- * indicates species that need to be advance ordered by October ** Limited availability.
