3 Prayer of the Church

Let us turn in faith to our merciful and compassionate Lord.

For true faith, that all Christians be defended from false teaching and error, and from confusing the wisdom of the world with the command- ments of God, let us pray to the Lord: Lord, have mercy.

For our schools and universities, that those who teach and those who learn in them do so according to the Word of God, let us pray to the Lord: Lord, have mercy.

For children, that they be brought up to fear and love the Lord, and to honor their fathers, mothers, and all in authority; for parents, that they be given the wisdom and patience to raise children of faith, let us pray to the Lord: Lord, have mercy.

For husbands and wives, that in their vocations they sacrificially love each other and submit to one another, neither indulging in selfish whims, nor neglecting the needs of the other, let us pray to the Lord: Lord, have mercy.

For the leaders of our nation, that in their actions, they work for the good of all people, even those not yet born, let us pray to the Lord: Lord, have mercy.

For the sick, for the dying, for all who are suffering, that God grant them healing, comfort and patience to endure their afflictions, let us pray to the Lord: Lord, have mercy.

For those who mourn, that they rejoice in of resurrection, let us pray to the Lord: Lord, have mercy.

For these and whatever else You know we need, hear us, dear Father, through Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

VACATION BIBLE CAMP MEETING If you were involved in this year’s Vacation Bible Camp as a leader, teacher or helper, we want to hear from you! Please consider joining us for a follow-up meeting after worship today where we will open up the table for discussion. We welcome and appreciate your input!

SUNDAY SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED We are excited to begin Family Sunday School on September 12. Two types of volunteers are needed: teachers who will lead the group using easy-to-follow materials, and support staff who are willing to shop for and prepare crafts or other hands-on activities. Volunteers would be asked to help once every 4-6 weeks, depending on how many volun- teers we have. Please contact Amy at [email protected] or 262-512-1067 if you are willing to help out in either of these ways.

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY Have the troubles of life left you looking for good news? Would you like to grow closer to other women as you grow closer to God? Join us for discussion of the book Unshakable Hope by Max Lucado. We will meet twice a month from 9:30 - 11:15 AM beginning September 9 and will start by meeting outside under the carport then move inside as the weather changes.

EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT BSLC member, Konrad Mathwig, has decided to build his Boy Scout Eagle project on our church grounds. His Eagle Scout project is creat- ing a gravel fire pit and pathway in the back of the church next to the pond. He will also be building five benches to surround the fire pit. If you would like to sponsor a bench, Konrad will put a personalized plaque on it for $250. The money raised will go directly to the project and will help him gain his Eagle Scout rank. If you would like to spon- sor a bench, please contact Konrad at [email protected] or 262- 888-2200.
