he Spring Term ‘Combined Graduation Parade’ Tfor 199th Pilots and Ground Duty Officers Course was conducted at Air Force Academy, Dundigal in Hyderabad. The day began early for 120 cadets consisting of 95 male and 25 women cadets when they got ready, one last time, to take part in the parade in the cadets’ ceremonial uniform. The cadets belonged to flying, navigation and ground duty branches of Indian Air Force. t General Amarjeet Singh Bedi LGOC Gajraj Corps inaugurated a war memorial constructed at Village Thembang in West Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh in June 2017. In an event that was witnessed by a large gathering of local populace and army personnel, the war memorial was dedicated to the nation. The memorial which was constructed by the Scout Battalion of the commemorates the valour and sacrifice displayed by the men of 5 GUARDS at Village Thembang on November 16- 17, 1962 during the Indo – China conflict. The battle brought to the fore the resolute courage and indomitable fighting spirit shown by the brave hearts of 5 GUARDS pitted against a numerically superior strength of the Chinese. The valiant fight put up by the Guardsmen inflicted such heavy casualties on the Chinese wherein they lost over 600 men. In fact so great was the impact of those losses on the Chinese that some of them mutinied after the action which stalled their further advance. he ten day tour to a fully automated high technology Tfarm at Pushkar (Rajasthan) for farmers of the border villages of Khour Tehsil of Jammu District which was flagged off on June 11, 2017, concluded with a colorful flag-in ceremony on June 20, 2017. A total of fourteen couples of the border areas were part of the tour which was organised by the Army. During the tour the Farmers were exposed to a fully automated high technology farm, learnt about cucumber farming in an automated environment and other modern farming techniques which can be used to increase farm productivity. The tour which commenced from Khour first halted at Amritsar where they visited the famous Golden Temple. The next halt scheduled was at Bikaner from where they proceeded to Pushkar. The visit to automated farm was conducted over two days. After Pushkar, the farmer couples were taken to Jaipur where they got an opportunity to interact with Shri Kalyan Singh, Hon’ble Governor of Rajasthan at Jaipur besides doing sight- seeing at Jaipur and then at Ajmer.
