No dog will be allowed to compete unless fees have been paid. LISTING FEE: A listing fee as established by the Canadian Kennel Club must accompany the entry of a dog for which a Canadian Kennel Club individual registration number or Event Registration Number (ERN) is not shown on the entry form. Event Registration Number: All dogs that are foreign born and foreign owned require an event registration number (ERN) to enable them to be awarded titles by the CKC. Dogs may be entered as “listed”; however, an ERN must be obtained within 30 days of obtaining points, awards or 1 scores to avoid cancellation. Application forms may be obtained from the Field Trial Secretary. NON-MEMBER PARTICIPATION FEE: An annual fee for awards and titles will be charged to a Canadian nonmember of CKC. The fee will match the ERN fee. In order to protect the awards/titles earned, the non-member will have the option to become a CKC member or pay the non-member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will result in all awards and titles being cancelled. NOTE: it is less expensive to become a CKC member than to pay this fee each year. 6.5.1 Any dog withdrawn because of injury or illness, or for a dog that dies, or a bitch that comes into season shall be refunded in full by the event-giving club. Prior to paying such refund, the club may require an appropriate veterinary certificate. There will be both pheasants at $25.00, pigeons at $4.00. Please book your birds with your entries. ATTENTION FOREIGN EXHIBITORS: Please note that fees are due and payable in Canadian dollars. Due to consistently fluctuating currency rates, discounted cheques will not be accepted. Personal cheques will be accepted, however, they are to be payable in Canadian funds. If you send a cheque in U.S. funds, it must be made out for the full amount of the entry and no exchange will be refunded to the exhibitor. Please do not mark cheques “Payable in Canadian Funds” or “At Par”. They will not be cleared by the banks. To simplify the process, we urge that you purchase bank drafts or money orders payable in Canadian funds. Your understanding and co-operation is appreciated. Thank you. 3 CNSFTA ANNUAL MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE WHEATFIELD INN IN KITSCOTY AT 4:00 ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2019. FOOD: There will be sponsored supper at the Wheatfield Inn in Kitscoty at 6:00 on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. Please book in advance if you will be attending the sponsored supper and the banquet The Hutterites will be serving a ‘completely homemade’ breakfast and lunch at the grounds for a nominal fee. Breakfast will commence at 7:00am A banquet and awards night will be held at the Wheatfield Inn in Kitscoty on Thursday, October, 10, 2019. The dinner will begin at 6:30pm. The banquet will be $40.00 per person. There is a bar to purchase drinks. GALLERY (SPECTATORS) & COMPETITORS: In accordance with The Spaniel Field Trial Rules and Regulations an article of BLAZE ORANGE clearly visible above the waist, must be worn by all persons in the field. NO exceptions. For a close-up view of the event we suggest that you follow along behind the Marshall in the “Gallery”. If you choose to do so, please obey the instructions of the Field Trial Marshall at all times. MARSHALL’S INSTRUCTIONS: Follow the Marshall’s instructions and keep close behind the Marshall and do not string out in a long line, or spread out overly far from the center line. If the gallery has advanced down the field, spectators must not travel down or across the field to catch up—rejoin at the start of the course. Avoid loud talk, applauding or noise while the dogs are working, as it could disturb birds or dogs. Children are welcome, but please keep them within the gallery at all times. Noncompeting dogs must not be on the grounds (except in the parking area), and should be leashed when not kenneled. Consumption of alcoholic beverages is not permitted on the field trial grounds. PLEASE NO SMOKING ANYWHERE ON THE GROUNDS. Your assistance in keeping the grounds clean will help ensure that we will be allowed to use them another time. 4 Welcome to the 53rd Canadian Open National! Welcome to the 53rd Canadian Open National It is my privilege to welcome you to Alberta for the 2019 Canadian Open National Spaniel Championship. We look forward to this event every year as an opportunity to showcase our dog’s ability. The club has worked hard to ensure all the ingredients are included for a successful National- great judges, challenging cover, strong birds, a great bird planter, first-rate guns and warm hospitality. We trust the Thanksgiving weekend in October proves to be great weather, providing good scenting conditions. We would like to thank all our volunteers for lending a hand, a great field trial event doesn’t happen alone. A special thanks to Duck Unlimited for the use of their field. The Minburn Hutterites for the fantastic meals and everyone who traveled here to make this event possible. The best of luck to all the participants!
