Bryanston Buffaloes - Supporters Guide Please find below information regarding forthcoming rowing events: Saturday 12 November – Pangbourne Junior Sculls Saturday 19 November – Hampton Small Boats Head Saturday 12 November 2016 – Pangbourne Junior Sculls Address: Beale Wildlife Park, Lower Basildon, Pangbourne, RG8 9NW *For directions, please use post code RG8 7DX The race will be 2750m downstream and a map of the course can be found at the website below. The map also includes information regarding parking, entrances and exits. Parking: There is free parking at the venue for spectators. Additional information: The venue is dog friendly. There are refreshments on sale. It is normally very muddy, so wellies are advisable. Viewing is a bit of a walk from the car park and it is normally signposted. Website: https://pangbournerowing.wordpress.com/pangbourne-junior-sculls/ Saturday 19 November 2016 – Hampton Small Boats Head Address: Hampton School Boat Club, Lower Sunbury Road, Hampton, TW12 2DH Each year the Hampton School Boat Club hosts two major rowing events on its home stretch of the River Thames: The Hampton Small Boats Head and The Hampton Fours and Eights Head. Both races are run over a course of approximately 3000m downstream from Sunbury Lock. The first of these events is the Small Boats Head, typically held in late November, with the Fours and Eights head following in late January/early February. Viewing is possible, along the full length of the course; from the towpath running on the south (Molesey) bank from the start at Sunbury Lock to the finish at the western end of Platt’s Eyot. Some cycling is possible (but more difficult than at other venues); most supporters gather at the eastern end of Hurst Park, opposite Platt’s Eyot to cheer on at the finish. Directions: From the south side of Hampton Court Bridge take the A3050 (Hurst Road) and park as near as you can to Sadlers Ride, which leads from a roundabout to the trailer/boating area (Hurst Park). This is a short way to the west of the post code KT8 9AJ, which marks Molesey Boat Club – but their precincts are not for our parking. The A308 from the junction of the M3 and A316 is frequently full of slow-moving traffic. It may well be worth seeking a clearer route. Parking: It is important that spectators’ cars do not block access for residents of the estate between the A3050 and Hurst Park. You can park on the side of the A3050. If need be you can park in a leisure centre car park up Dunstall Way, but please check their closing time, the details are The Hurst Pool, KT8 1TP. Additional information: If you wish to meet up with other Bryanstonians the usual point is either at the boat/trailer or near the finish line. This is a big event with a wide towpath and it is easily accessible. If it is raining, please note there is no cover or clubhouse shelter for spectators. Facilities are available at Molesey Boat Club and at Sadlers Ride. This is a dog friendly venue. Food - Teas are provided at Molesey Boat Club, which is a 10 to15-minute walk from the competition. The Hampton and Lady Eleanor Holles Boat Club Association also runs a refreshment tent about 200 yards upstream from the finish. For the Small Boats Head, lunches are also available from the tent. Alternatively, you can bring your own food. Website: http://hamptonschool.org.uk/co-curricular/sports/rowing/ .
