    Sarah Siddons Society Contact: Sherry Hoel, 773-248-4860; [email protected] www.sarahsiddonssociety.org FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SARAH SIDDONS SOCIETY HONORS CHICAGO’S OUTSTANDING INNOVATORS AND ARTISTS IN MUSICAL THEATRE (Chicago, IL, October 14, 2013) — The Sarah Siddons Society of Chicago recently announced that Eileen LaCario, Doug Peck, and Rachel Rockwell will be honored at Siddons’ Annual Meeting to be held at The Arts Club of Chicago on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, beginning at 11:30 am. Eileen LaCario is the Founding Member and Vice President of Broadway In Chicago which brings over one million people into the Chicago theatre district each year. Eileen has launched six theatres in Chicago including Royal George, Halsted Theatre Center, Cadillac Palace, Oriental, Bank of America Theatres and, most recently, the Broadway Playhouse. Eileen served on Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s Arts and Culture Transition Team and is past chair of the League of Chicago Theatres. She now serves on the City of Chicago Cultural Advisory Council and Choose Chicago’s Cultural Tourism Commission. Doug Peck, Music Director, has won five Jeff Awards (Porgy and Bess; Caroline, or Change; Carousel; Fiorello;Man of La Mancha) and two After Dark Awards (Guys and Dolls, Hello Again). His work has been heard in Chicago at Court Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Writers Theatre, TimeLine Theatre Company, Northlight Theatre, the Paramount Theatre, Drury Lane Oakbrook Terrace, Porchlight Music Theatre, as well as the Ravinia Festival. Rachel Rockwell is aJeff Award winning theatre director and choreographer. Featuring fresh new soundtracks by Tom Nazziola, a prolific composer and conductor best known for his work on film, television and musicals, Silent Sherlock will astound and entertain audiences at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie this March. Nazziola will lead the Chicago Philharmonic ensemble in three new film scores to accompany a live screening of movies from the golden age of silent film in the 1920s. Headlining the program is Sherlock Jr., starring perhaps the greatest comedic genius of the 20th century, Buster Keaton. Hilarious hijinks ensue as Keaton attempts to impress his sweetheart, solve a mystery, and save the day. Accompanying spectacular cinematography is a colorful palette of violin, piano, bass, and winds painted with Nazziola’s masterful hand. This four-day extravaganza will transform the jewel of Chicago into a mecca of music, food, art, and fashion featuring over 170 bands on eight stages, including Chance The Rapper, The Killers, Muse, Arcade Fire, The xx, Lorde, blink-182, DJ Snake, and Justice, and many more. Lollapalooza will host 100,000 fans each day, and with so much activity, we wanted to provide some top highlights: •SAFETY FIRST: In case of emergency, we urge attendees to be alert to safety messaging coming from the following sources: • Push Notifications through The Official Lollapalooza Mobile App available on Android and iOS • Video Screens at the Main Entrance, North Entrance, and Info Tower by Buckingham Fountain • Video Screens at 4 Stages – Grant Park, Bud Light, Lake Shore and Perry’s • Audio Announcements at All Stages • Real-time updates on Lollapalooza Twitter, Facebook and Instagram In the event of a weather evacuation, all attendees should follow the instructions of public safety officials.
