In many locations summer is a time of year when you have a few extra hours of ice that may be available to use for employee training. During the skating season we hear that many facilities are utilizing all of their prime ice time and that is music to our ears! However this also means it would be hard to find time to train your staff especially on the ice. So utilize some of that free up ice time in the summer to spend time working with your operations staff on things like edging, ice maintenance, ice depth readings and the dreaded "what happens when the ice resurfacer stalls on the ice" scenerio! No matter how seasoned your staff is providing annual refresher training is vital to avoiding down time during your busy time of year!
