Jig (4) 31. Jig (4+1) This competition will be run under Scotland Official Board of Highland Dancing rules. 1. Field entries will NOT be accepted. No refunds. 2. AGE: Applies to the date of competition. Competitors may be requested to furnish proof of age. Competitors may enter only in events to which his/her age applies and in the correct classification (eg.Beginner). Please refer to the Scotland Official Board of Highland Dancing rules. 3. Competitors must have a ScotDance/SOBHD Card. All dancers must present their ScotDance card prior to dancing. No card at the competition will result in a $5.00 penalty fee and awards (including stamping of card) will be withheld until card is presented to competition chair. 4. Dancers must comply with SOBHD conduct. Failure to do so will result in the dancer being reported to the SOBHD. 5. Saskatchewan dancers must belong to their local association or pay $12.00 per dance. 6. Classes will be divided after the closing date for entries at the discretion of the Competition Chairperson. Three competitors constitute a class, however, should there be a single entry where classes cannot be combined, the competitor will be judged. All other classes will be divided according to entries received after the closing date at the discretion of the Competition Committee. 7. All status changes must be sent or phoned immediately to the Competition Chairperson. NO CHANGES allowed on competition day. 8. COMPETITORS: must be suitably attired; must be on hand to dance when their event is called or forfeit the right to dance in that event; last to enter - first to dance; must not wear or display medals until after the competition; must be in FULL COSTUME to receive medals. 9. Communication with a judge concerning a competitor will result in disqualification of that competitor. Any protests must be in writing and handed to the Competition Chairperson prior to the end of the competition and accompanied by a protest fee of $15.00. Decision of the Judges will be final. 10. Medals and trophies will be awarded. There is no trophy for the Primary Class. The scoring system of the Scotland Official Board of Highland Dancing will be in effect; 137, 91, 71, 53, 37, 23. 11. Awards presented using the scale of half plus one (Maximum 8 awards). Examples, in the case of 8 dancers for example 5 awards will be given. In the situation where there are 9 dancers, 5 awards will be presented. 12. SHDA Broadsword Special Event will be awarded CASH for the top three groups only. Amounts in the following: Each member of the first-place group will be awarded $20. Second- place group members will each receive $15.00. Each member of the third-place team will be awarded $10.00. Broadsword groupings will be randomly selected after all the entries have been submitted. If there is an odd number to create groups of 4 – then some dancers will be randomly drawn to dance twice. 13. Your receipt from Eventry.com will serve as email confirmation. No further confirmation will be sent. 14. All Dancers with a valid membership in their Local Highland Dancing Association will pay $6/dance. All dancers without a local Membership will pay $12/dance. Dancers may be required to provide proof of membership in their local association. Workshop registrants will be notified via email if changes are made.* IMPORTANT INFORMATION: • Attire: Fitted shorts, fitted tank top, knee high socks, ghillies, and hair back • Bring: Water bottle, notebook, pen, nut-free snacks, energy and a smile! • Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled dance time. • Please check in with registration table upon arrival. • Each dance level will receive a 15 to 30 minute break between classes. Please ensure your dancer has everything they require during these times (activities and snacks). • We are not the only group at this venue. We kindly request that all workshop guests keep the noise level to a minimum, keep their space tidy, and occup break times with a quiet activity(no running). • We have a limited number of volunteers on-hand. Parents are welcome to stay in the second floor hallway for the duration of your dancers' session and assist during break times. • Volunteers required. Please check on the registration form if you are available to help during the workshop and if you are available for the Morning or Afternoon Session. .
