The afternoon was open to all Year 12 and Year 13 students, giving them the opportunity to meet a number of representatives from both internal and external activity providers. This is a key part of the Sixth Form’s ‘powerful curriculum’ offer which encourages students to engage in enrichment activities outside of their academic study. There were an incredible amount of opportunities available to students with external providers including NCS, Royal British Legion, Wilmslow Talking Newspaper and The Chamber of Commerce Employment Readiness programme, with internal offerings such as Bar Mock Trial, Young Enterprise, Model United Nations and an array of sports teams, to name just a few. Mrs Finemore-Lunn, Year 13 Student Manager and co-organiser of the Opportunities Fair said, “This year’s Fair had a real buzz; it was very pleasing to see the Sports Hall full of students excited at the prospect of getting involved with such a wide variety of activities. We are very proud of Sixth Form students who are always so giving of their time and committed to developing their skills, helping others and broadening their horizons”. School Games Makers organise high five festival On Wednesday afternoon 6 School Games Makers organised and ran the MSSP Years 3 and 4 High Five Festival. Throughout the afternoon they coached 30 young players on skills such as dodging, catching and throwing, playing small sided games and shooting skills. All the children had a fantastic time! Thank you to the following School Games Makers: Myla Watts, Amelia Ramsay, Megan Greaves, Natalie Elliott, Sophie Turner and Izzy Higgins. They are developing skills in areas such as reliability, organisation, time keeping, communication and coaching skills. 2 Do more, be more This week’s assembly for Year 7-11 students, from Ms Powley, encouraged our students to follow their aspirations so that they can ‘do more and be more.’ Our Year 8-11 students should now have completed their Aspirations Questionnaires and this has been set as a task on Fire Fly for our Year 7 students. The information from the Aspirations Questionnaire helps us to know our students better and to ensure that we are providing an aspiration and careers programme that meets their needs. https://tinyurl.com/ycwhr847 NOTES Student Council Applications Student Council Application process is now live on the Student Noticeboard on Fire Fly.
