Cheshire East SD informed the meeting of the launch of the new singing resource book, created Songbook in conjunction with ‘Out of the Ark Music’. The book has been developed to support singing in primary schools and develop staff confidence. SD explained the content. SD also advised we are looking at a singing challenge for schools to enter, the prize will be out of the ark resources. A new book will also be launched more specific to us, ie Betty Bear goes to the zoo. JF asked if we have anything else to help Primary Teachers with music. SEND Programme SD advised we have been expanding our area of engagement to more actively work with and in SEND settings more recently, and are now involved with seven Special Schools in Cheshire East; , Springfield, Park Lane, Fermain Academy, Oakfield, Adelaide and St Johns Wood. Four of the schools are taking part in a conductive music technology project. We are also arranging a workforce development programme for five tutors for nine weeks, 2 hours a week introducing them to delivering music in an SEND setting. SD also informed the group of a new SEND Orchestra (Noteworthy) being launched, who will meet on a half-termly basis, the first meeting will be on 7th July. JH & JD very interested and supportive to this idea. Activity Report Read through and briefly discussed. This is attached to the minutes as circulated.
