Transport Information

Students Eligible for Free Travel

Students who are eligible for free travel (living in /Winterley or Smallwood//Brereton) are able to travel on the special school buses which are provided under contract to the local authority. East Council will confirm your daughter’s entitlement to a contract ticket and the allocated route for travel.

Please note that the Routemaster 837 (below) is a commercial service with a proportion of seats reserved by Council for current pass holders only who live in Haslington. Full details of the route from Bus Station‐Wells Green‐Crewe Rail Station‐Haslington‐Winterley‐Wheelock‐Sandbach including fares are available from www.routemasterlocalbuses.co.uk ‐ 01270 621769.

The RM 38X is a commercial bus service for use by fare payers only. (A single journey ticket is currently £1.50 – return (£3.00) and 10 journey tickets (£13.00) are also available.)

Cheshire East Transport will provide assisted home to school transport for children who qualify under the current School Transport Policy. Assistance may also be available for secondary school pupils where families are in receipt of one of the qualifying benefits and the student attends one of the three nearest secondary schools between two and six miles of the home address.

GERRARDS PRIVATE HIRE

Shavington/Hough/Wychwood Park/Weston

This service currently runs via Shavington, Hough and Wychwood Park, terminating at Weston. It is not contracted to or Sandbach High School. The fare of £4.50 per day is payable monthly in arrears to Gerrards Private Hire Ltd. Pickup/drop off points are by private arrangement with Gerrards at reasonable points along the route.

Please note: Travel on this service for Year 6 students on either of the induction days needs to be by prior agreement with Gerrards to ensure there are sufficient spaces. Students will be required to pay for the cost of travel.

NEW ROUTES FOR SEPTEMBER 2016!

From September, travel will be available from Betley, Wrinehill, Madeley and . Further details will be available during the summer term.
