Motogp: Marc Marquez Is the Undisputed King of Sachsenring
Beat: Sports MotoGP: Marc Marquez is the undisputed king of Sachsenring. Marquez wins the GP of Germany Bologna Italy, 03.07.2017, 18:18 Time USPA NEWS - The Sachsenring racing circuit is located in Hohenstein-Ernstthal near Chemnitz in Saxony, Germany. Among other events, it features the annual German motorcycle Grand Prix of the FIM Grand Prix motorcycle racing world championship. The first race was held on 26 May 1927 on an 8.7 km layout on public roads, running also through the village of Hohenstein-Ernstthal itself. It was dubbed "Sachsenring" in 1937. The East German motorcycle Grand Prix was held there from 1962 to 1971. The local two stroke MZ bikes of Zschopau were competitive during this time. The quickest lap was achieved by 15 time World Champion Giacomo Agostini on a MV Agusta with a 180 km/h average. After West German Dieter Braun won in 1971 and the East German fans sang the West German National Anthem in celebration (as is the case in sport, the winner's National Anthem is played after the event), the event was limited to East European entrants for political reasons. In 1990, with faster Western machinery now available, racing through the village became too dangerous with some fatalities (this can be compared with the Isle of Man TT). To accelerate redevelopment of eastern Germany in the new unified Germany, a 2.9 km (1.8 mi) short track berg corner was built in the 1990s to bring international motorsport to the newly freed eastern part of Germany. In 1996, IDM motorcycle racing and the ADAC Super Tourenwagen Cup resumed racing here. -
Press Information
PRESS INFORMATION MICHELIN AND MARQUEZ MASTER A SIZZLING SACHSENRING Michelin saw high temperatures try to play their part at Sachsenring in Germany today as Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) gave an accomplished performance to take victory during the Pramac Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland as the Michelin tyres produced a durable and consistent race to conquer the German track. This weekend’s event at the 3,671m Sachsenring circuit has witnessed high track temperatures which culminated in the asphalt hitting 46°C as today’s 30-lap race got underway. These unexpected highs put the full range of MICHELIN Power Slick tyres under intense scrutiny as the rubber had to cope with conditions which were not anticipated when the Michelin team had to choose this weekend’s allocation before the season started, but with the knowledge and data secured from last year’s event the team produced a compound selection that was suitable for all. As today’s race began, five of the six slick tyres were in use in various pairings, with only the hard rear being unused. Marquez lined up with a hard front and soft rear compound tyre at the front of the grid, after he set pole position yesterday as he recorded the fastest-ever two-wheel lap of Sachsenring. As the lights changed to signal go, Jorge Lorenzo (Ducati Team) got off the line quickly and led for the first lap, the Spaniard had a soft front and medium rear and tried to push hard at the start to make a break, He maintained his lead for 12-laps with Marquez in close proximity, but on lap- 13 the reigning World Champion made his move and took first place, a position he never relinquished and took the chequered flag to secure his ninth successive victory at Sachsenring and record the fastest lap of the race in the process on lap-22. -

Vitesse! Page 3 Foreword Motorsport essentially consists of three ingredients. First, you need a motor vehicle - which can be anything from a Formula 1 car to a lawn mower, or from a MotoGP motorcycle to a pocket bike. Second, you need a driver or rider to operate the vehicle, and finally, a place to go racing - a circuit. To most people this last ingredient is probably the least interesting. The number of books about famous racing drivers and cars, or great riders and their motorcycles, is far larger than the number of books about racing circuits. However, to me circuits are the most interesting aspect of motorsport, for two main reasons. First is their great diversity: in terms of shape, layout, length, difficulty, fame and many other factors, every circuit is different, and each has its own story to tell. Second, it is fascinating to see just how many circuits there are. Once you start looking, you can find them just about any- where. Finding lost circuits or discovering long-forgotten tracks is one of the most fun aspects of researching racing circuits. When looking for information about racing circuits online, I often found it frustrating that the available sources were not complete, and that they often lacked detail and accuracy. This is one of the reasons why I started my website www.wegcircuits.nl and why I made Rennen! Races! Vitesse! - a downloadable pdf-file that lists racing circuits of past and present in four European countries: the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Austria. -

How to Create Lap Triggers with the GPS Laptrigger Module
How to create lap triggers with the GPS Laptrigger module Connect the GPS Laptrigger to the IR Laptrigger connector and turn the function on by pushing the “TRIP” button briefly. If you´re using the 2015 bike the trigger mode must be set to “Automatic” or “External”, please refer to the bike´s manual. Position of the IR Laptrigger connector Recommended mounting position of the GPS Laptrigger As soon as the GPS Laptrigger module has found the satellite´s signal (takes up to 5 minutes, usually 1 minute), the LED is flashing fast1 and it checks if the last used trigger coordinates are valid for the actual position (within a radius of 5 km). If the position is valid, it will be used to create a lap trigger. Otherwise the module searches if there is a matching start line stored in its GPS coordinates table. Have a look at the appendix for the circuit start lines which are stored in this table. If there is no matching start line stored or you want to use another position you can manually define a position. To define a positon you push the “TRIP”* button while driving/riding (speed > 10 km/h) for longer than 2 s. The module will then use the actual position of the vehicle (at the start of pushing) as a trigger position. * If you´re using a 2015 bike, please use the grip heater button! A manually defined position will be stored until it is overwritten by a new position definition. A manually defined position is not stored in the GPS coordinates table. -
