For taking height and stagger measurements of the over head line using a Hilti PD42 measurement laser. The laser is positioned at eye level and features a 90º viewing prism, enabling the operator to see the desired cable and laser location marker at the same time, in all weather conditions, including bright sunshine. The rail head to cable height reading is displayed on an LCD display, the value is compensated for the height offset of the laser, meaning that no on site calculation is required. Cable stagger position is indicated on a scale on the lateral beam of the gauge. The horizontal beam folds down flat to the lateral beam for storage and transport. Bowthorpe Equipment o l s

Bowthorpe Clamps and Wedges have been developed to tension conductor cables in overhead line systems. Used with slings, shackles and lifting products such as Lever Hoists and Tirfor Machines, the conductor wire can be installed to the specific required tension. The Bowthorpe Wedge is an aluminium clamp used for rigging of OLE equipment; it is available in many styles depending on wire size and what the wire is made of. The Bowthorpe body is an aluminium case that wraps around the wedge and comes in 2 sizes. The Bowthorpe pulling wire is used to pull OLE wire, wedges and bodies cannot be used without the pulling wire. This equipment is subject to a 6 monthly record of thorough examination.

Our OLE experts will plan the correct equipment and consumables to complete your project and deliver them to site in our secure Pod. The Pod is an innovative means of ensuring all the equipment and consumables for a project are delivered on site and are safely stored and maintained for the project duration. This saves planning time, waste and helps ensure the project is completed on time and to budget. Why use the HIREpod?

Everything you need to complete the project is delivered to site and stored in one place. The Pod has it’s own power source for sensor activated lighting and dedicated charging points for battery powered equipment.

Torrent Trackside has been supplying portable plant hire for almost 45 years. We provide all the equipment necessary for track renewals and maintenance. Our range of equipment ranges from small hand tools to clipping machines and rail trolleys. We also supply support equipment such as lighting, generators, pumps and ventilation. All our depots stock a complete range of consumables for all the equipment. A range of our larger equipment can be supplied with an operator helping to minimise possession overrun and ensure a safe and efficient operation.
