"THE Hazards Golfing Society recently held a meeting at Coombe Hill, and the winner of Division I of the competition (for handicaps of 8 and under* was W. R. Skinner, of Moor Park, who had a return of 28 plus 3I =311 points. Division II of the competition (for handicaps of 9 and over) was won by C. R. Harper, of Coombe Hill, with 28 points. There was a prize, too, for the best inward half, and this was won by the Surrey cricketer, H. M. Garland- Wells (Addington), with 17I. After luncheon, bogey foursomes were played over 13 holes, and the winning pair, who returned 3 up, was B. D. Carris, of Sunningdale (1) and W. H. Halstead (1), the Cambridge University player. Hazards Meeting at Coombe Hill

THE Hazards Golfing Society recently held a meeting at Coombe Hill, and the winner of Division I of the competition (for handicaps of 8 and under) was W. R. Skinner, of Moor Park, who had a return of 28 plus 3} =31J points. Division II of the competition (for handicaps of 9 and over) was won by C. R. Harper, of Coombe Hill, with 28 points. There was a prize, too, for the best inward half, and this was won by the Surrey cricketer, H. M. Garland- Wells (Addington), with 17$. After luncheon, bogey foursomes were played over 13 holes, and the winning pair, who returned 3 up, was B. D. Carris, of Sunningdale (1) and W. H. Halstead (1), the Cambridge University player. B. ("Laddie") LUCAS, former Sunday Ex- press sports writer and cap- tain of the Cambridge Uni- versity golf team, has been awarded the D.F.C. for gal- lantry in action over Malta.
