South West Single Reed Day The big skills event for clarinets and saxophones

Sunday 30th April 2017 from 9.30 am - 4.30 pm Open to all levels of players and teachers MA WELLS MUSIC ACADEMY hosted by Wells Cathedral School This is a fantastic opportunity for all clarinet and saxophone players to enjoy an inspirational day in our new state-of-the-art performance centre, Cedars Hall. The day includes: Masterclasses with Royal College of Music professors Workshops and ensembles for all abilities Tips on maximising your practice, motivation and performance

Richard Hosford, RCM Christian Forshaw (clarinet) teaches at the (saxophone) is Professor of Royal College of Music and Saxophone at the Guildhall is Principal Clarinet of the School. He is best known BBC Symphony Orchestra. internationally for his work Many of Richard’s recordings have been with the Sanctuary Ensemble. He gives chosen as ‘First choice’ by BBC Radio 3’s regular masterclasses at RCM, RNCM, Record Review. RWCMD and Trinity School of Music.

Andy Tweed (saxophone) Marie Lloyd (clarinet) studied at Birmingham teaches at the Royal Conservatoire and has Academy of Music and at given masterclasses at the Wells Cathedral School. Royal College of Music and Marie has a love of playing Chetham’s School of Music in addition chamber music especially with the Nash to teaching at Wells Cathedral School. and Gaudier Ensembles.

Ed Leaker (saxophone & clarinet) is Head of Woodwind at Wells Cathedral School and graduated from the Royal Academy of Music. He has enjoyed an international freelance career performing in both jazz and classical settings.
