5- Day Ashtanga Immersion A virtual retreat led by Kino MacGregor Monday- June 8th ❖ 10 AM - 12 PM: Technique-Driven Guided Practice Start off with the basics and build up through the Sun Salutations and Standing Poses. ❖ 2 - 4 PM Workshop — Rotate and Fold Learn what it means to safely fold forward. Find the secret to external rotation in the hip joints. Address progressions through modifications to the full pose for key poses of the Primary Series that emphasis both forward folds and hip rotation. Tuesday- June 9th ❖ 10 AM - 12 PM: Technique-Driven Guided Practice Continue through the Sun Salutations, Standing Poses and move into some of the seated poses, including Janu Sirsasana. Wednesday- June 10th ❖ 10 AM - 12 PM Technique-Driven Guided Practice Continue through the Sun Salutations, Standing Poses, Seated Poses, and add in Backbends and Closing. ❖ 2 - 4 PM Workshop — Meet the Marichasana Family + Close Friends Work step by step through this family of asanas, learn technique and modifications to assure the practice is both safe and accessible. Demystify some of the most perplexing poses of the Ashtanga method, working through both the Marichasana, Bujapidasana and Supta Kurmasana. Thursday- June 11th ❖ 10 AM- 12PM Technique-Drive Guided Practice Continue through the Sun Salutations, Standing Poses, Seated Poses up to Navasana plus Backbends and Closing. ©KinoYoga 2020 Friday - June 12th ❖ 10 AM - 12 PM Technique-Driven Guided Practice Continue through the Sun Salutations, Standing Poses, plus a preview of some of the second half of Primary Series, and end with Backbends and Closing. ❖ 2 - 4 PM Workshop—The Confusing Middle and the Downward Spiral It’s the middle to second half of Primary Series that gets the most confusing. In this workshop you will find tools to help break down these challenging asanas into something that everyone can do. You’ll never go through a led class again feeling lost. Instead, you will have confidence that you can move through this traditional practice safely and effectively. TWO Led BONUS CLASSES- June 18th & June 27th ❖ 10 AM - 12 PM Guided Full Primary Series + Conference Join this traditional counted class and put all your knowledge of the week to use.
