    ZUR AUSSTELLUNG Schönheit als Notwendigkeit Gewobenes und Gemaltes aus der Sammlung Otten Bis 29. Juli 2011 Nach Ausstellungen über die Russische Avantgarde und Gottfried Honegger widmet der Otten Kunstraum seine dritte Schau der Gegenüberstellung von Gewobenem und Gemaltem. Die Verbindung von Kunst und Leben, die Frage nach der gesellschaftlichen Relevanz von Kunst sowie eine reduzierte gegenstandsfreie Formensprache verknüpft mit der Suche nach dem Essentiellen – diese Themenstränge ziehen sich wie der sprichwörtliche rote Faden durch die Präsentationen im Otten Kunstraum. Ein Umhang aus Peru gefertigt in der Nasca-Periode im Zeitraum von 200-600 nach Christus, ein Poncho aus Guatemala, faszinierende Seidenstoffe in Ikat-Technik aus Süd-Ost-Asien und Flachgewebe aus Persien werden in der aktuellen Ausstellung gemeinsam mit Malereien und Grafiken von Eduardo Chillida, Marie-Antoinette Courtens, Adolfo Estrada, Helmut Federle, Jakob Gasteiger, Gottfried Honegger, Johannes Itten, Lluis Lleo, Alexander Konstantinow und Sean Scully gezeigt.
