The effort to re-establish the endangered mountain yellow-legged frog in its native habitat took a large step forward last week. On Wednesday and Thursday, about 100 “sub-adult” frogs were released in Indian Creek on the James San Jacinto Mountains Reserve, near Lake Fulmor. The sub-adults, or froglets, are slightly smaller than a full adult, which measures about 2 inches long.
