  • On Tour with Eric Clapton Label: Speakers Corner Delaney And
CD & VINYL REVIEW ROUND-UP PT.16 - The Audiophile Man 23.03.21, 1337 DELANEY & BONNIE & FRIENDS Title: On Tour with Eric Clapton Label: Speakers Corner Delaney and Bonnie Bramlett were husband and wife and purveyors of some top quality blues, country and roots-based fare. Their approach to music soared towards the poles. On one side of the coin, the pair had an open and relaxing relationship with their music. If you had the chops, you were welcome to join the gang and enjoy yourself at your pace, without any pressures or hassles. With space to breath and to express yourself in creative terms. This is the main reason why the pair attracted a series of famous friends to join their troup. On the other side of the coin, the Bramletts – or maybe that should be termed Brawling Bramletts – fought like cat and dog with many people in the area being hit by the shrapnel. Despite the arguments, the music they and their friends produced was of high quality. This 1970 outing only lasted forty-two minutes and spanned eight songs but the album is tightly packed with quality. The fact that Clapton felt free of the pressures of fame meant that he could spread his wings and he certainly does that on tracks such as ‘I Don’t Want to Discuss It’ and ‘Coming Home’. One item of note, Clapton enjoyed himself so much that, if you take a look at the rear sleeve and peruse the line up, you’ll notice Bobby Whitlock, Carl Radle and Jim Gordon all listed.

  • Delaney & Bonnie: Rock&Soul&Blues Amb Amics
My Sweet Lord i All Things Must Pass van ser el reflex https://www.naciodigital.cat/bergueda/noticia/5012/delaney-bonnie-rock-soul-blues-amb-amics Pagina 1 de 10 d'aquesta amistat i aquests ensenyaments.

Delaney and Bonnie Bramlett made a huge contribution to the rock movement. During their relatively brief career as a duo, their influence and respect from their peers was immense. They were originally signed to Stax Records, releasing a somewhat underwhelming studio album debut, Home in 1969. However, when they opened for British supergroup Blind Faith in 1969, their incendiary roots-bases Southern rock established a significant legacy. The fluid band lineup (which at times featured George Harrison, Eric Clapton and Dave Mason) distilled the essence of blues rock, especially in the soulful, vocals of the Bramletts.

BOBBY WHITLOCK, MUSICIAN In her latest collection of newspaper clippings, Sara Smith included an item of Bobby Whitlock that tied together several other clipping and gave us the clue to who Bobby Whitlock is. I have four clippings relating to this musician. The oldest is from the New Musical Express from August 22, 1970 and recounts the formation of Eric Clapton's new band, Derek and the Dominos with Jim Gordon, Carl Radle and Bobby Whitlock. The latter three had been the back up men for the California group Delaney and Bonnie. They made their debut at the London Lyceum but the band faded fast and each member went on to join other groups. The next reference to Bobby Whitlock is in USA Today June 25,1986. The item refers to a benefit for the families of Rick Nelson's Stone Canyon Band and crew who died in a New Year's Eve air crash. The benefit at the Beverly Theatre in Beverly Hills included Rick Nelson's twin sons, Gunnar and Mathew, Dave Mason, Billy Swan and Mick Fleetwood and the Zoo with others Bobby Whitlock, Tommy Tutone, Randy Misner and Stone Canyon Band alumni. The last two references are from Oxford, Mississippi. The broken pelvis festival, Wayne the dog memorial for accident victim Chico Harris October 23-25, 1997. The latest is the February 24, 1998 benefit for Bobby Whitlock's niece Cassie Todd. Bobby Whitlock lives in Waterford, Mississippi and he and his family own and operate Deal Horse Studios.
