GYMNAST 12 GYMNAST 13 Generation By Olivia Howard inspired and Tim Peake This time last year the country was building up to a frenzy as the London 2012 Olympic Games gripped the nation. The performance of TeamGB was sensational and very much inspirational; indeed the phrase “inspire a generation” encapsulated one of the key aspects of the Olympic legacy. This summer once again sees some of the best younger gymnast taking steps on their Olympic journey as the European Youth Olympic Festival takes place in Utrecht (NED). We caught up with two of Great Britain’s brightest gymnastics stars – Brinn Bevan and Tyesha Mattis – to see how much London inspired them and what they are working on in their Brinn Bevan quest for Rio. Brinn - My favourite moment was watching the Great Britain men’s team in the final because they did really well and their performance deserved a medal.
