INDIE DAZE

Returning to the O2 Forum Kentish Town for a fourth consecutive time, Mute Elephant proudly announce the next instalment of Indie Daze : 8 great bands, 1 stage, 1 day.

Continuing the tradition of compacting the best of old-skool independent music and creating the kind of event you wish had happened years ago, “Indie Daze 4” is the best Festival you never saw when you were younger, set in Central London, with an 11.30pm finish, lots of food, and the kind of relaxed atmosphere you need for a great day out (and in) with lots of friends you haven't met yet.

Broadening the appeal from previous events, 2017 sees The House Of Love headline with their first London show in four years, and return to the site of their legendary 'Doing It For The Kids' show in 1988 with a special, and unique, set that revisits their Creation period from the first single “Shine On” to “Destroy The Heart”, and many places in-between. This is their biggest headline show in London in 25 years - there's not been a show like it, and there probably won't be again.

Also back are Voice Of The Beehive with the first show from their classic, original line up in 25 years (including Woody on drums having a couple of days off from Madness), promising to bring their sorely-missed wit, wisdom and general wonderfulness back to the stage. Expect all the songs you want and a few surprises!

Continuing the trend of bands you thought you might never see again, Apollo 440 break cover for their first UK show in over a decade, bringing back to the live stage the classic lineup with the return of Pop Will Eat Itself frontman Mary, and an assortment of hits that are timeless and utterly irresistible. Their live reputation is legendary and they are huge on the European mainland. Come see for yourself and remind yourself why you loved them.

Filling out the rest of a crowded day is a rare London appearance by who end a 17 year gap from live performance with a urban bastard blues set that demonstrates exactly why they think they're so amazing, baby.

Also appearing is a mid afternoon hits-strewn set from Miles Hunt & Erica Nockalls featuring songs new and old from their day jobs in The Wonder Stuff, as well as choice cuts from their huge armoury of solo songs.

Other acts on the bill include Thousand Yard Stare returning after an amazing opening 2016 slot and, unexpectedly - Salad return with their first full band show in 20 years ; after tentative steps with rare acoustic shows, "Indie Daze 4" offers the premiere flight of the full line up live on stage since 1997.

Finally, the day is also opened by the ever-invigorating and enjoyable Bis bringing their infectious brand of kandy pop to the day.

With 8 acts, 4 of whom are coming back to play London for the first time in at least a decade, Indie Daze 4 is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see several bands you thought you may never see again, under one roof on one day.

Indie Daze is 100% Independent in name and nature : from the heart of a team that love music and with no corporate deals or hefty bankrolls, aiming to bring a great day out with rarely seen and much loved bands. There's already been a marriage from a couple who met at the first Indie Daze in 2014, who knows what will happen next?
