EXETER LIVESTOCK CENTRE MARKET REPORT AUGUST 2021 Monday 23rd August – Prime Stock Market Tuesday 24th August – TB Restricted Sale Current Covid-19 Regulations Following the government's easing of restrictions on Monday the 19th of July, Kivells would like to reassure our customers and clients that we will continue to operate safely and navigate the future with caution. Social distancing and face coverings are no longer mandatory at any of our sites, however we encourage all of our customers to continue wearing face coverings and maintain social distancing where possible. Highest price recorded this week was £1635 for a strong 766kg South Devon steer from Alan Luscombe of Bickington which was knocked down at 214ppk. Stephen Downing of Diptford saw Hereford steers rise to 216ppk and £1328 followed by a south Devon heifer from Luke Knight of Fluxton with a 728kg South Devon heifer which drew 211ppk and £1532. Friesian bred steers sold well and to a top of £1528 (766 x 200ppk) for the best of a trio from Paul and Joy Harvey of Loddiswell and John Carden of Payhembury saw his 604kg Devon bullock fetch 196ppk and £1180. Barren cows peaked at £1354 (776kg x 175ppk) given for a well-covered Aberdeen Angus from David and Pam Pengelly of Croyle followed by further well fed Angus at £1068 (674kg x 159ppk) for Graham Heard of Broadclyst. South Devon cows ran to £1078 (698kg x 155ppk) for MCE Greenslade of Molland whilst Charolais saw £1072 (664kg x 162ppk) for Roger Cundy of Exminster and £991 (696kg x 143ppk) for Jez Wilkinson of Poundsgate.
